LOL, I figured you were the one receiving that offer! I'm a Hawks fan, and love DK. I also believe in getting "your guys" because that's what makes this game fun. And winning of course. But if someone offered me that for DK I'd break a finger clicking my mouse to accept.
Not enough? Just wow...
And also, I"m not super active in this thread. Mostly I comment about what others have posted. But I have to say this might be the first instance where a poster has listed a trade they proposed that was considered "bad". And as you can tell by my reaction. This was CERTAINLY not a bad offer. I'm glad you posted though for the sheer entertainment value.

Re: 2021 BAD TRADE OFFERS
Starting like October of last year, and continuing in off-season, a guy offers my rebuilding team Julio for Calvin about once every 3 weeks.
Not the worst offer on here, but because on same team, I can’t think of 1 reasonable explanation on why I’d ever do it

Re: 2021 BAD TRADE OFFERS
My favorite is the offer where you’re the one giving away the only QB, and it would be terrible in 1QB... and then you read the sig and find out that it’s SuperFlex and the offer is even worse.

Re: 2021 BAD TRADE OFFERS
I first thought this was the completed trades thread. Came here to roast someone for making a terrible trade.
Then I realized my mistake, and it was in the "initial offers" thread.
This one isn't good.

Re: 2021 BAD TRADE OFFERS
I'm just going to speak to 3 and 4. At least when it comes to my perception, one can't call a trade offer bad or horrible if it's reasonably close in terms of current market value. I think it's fine to disagree w/valuations, we all do to some extent, but market value is still market value, and if you plug in a trade that uses the DLF analyzer, and it's reasonably close, it's not a horrible offer. To me horrible offers are one's where the Analyzer says one team is doubling up the other or even worse, if one side is winning like 915-740, that's not horrible, that's just weighted to one side a bit more heavily.abloom wrote: ↑Mon Feb 08, 2021 5:39 amFirst two are bad, seems like if you took Higgins out of each of them I'd be closer to acceptingMFundercover wrote: ↑Fri Feb 05, 2021 11:55 pm Give: DK, Higgins Get: Tyreek, Pittman, 2022 2nd (late)
Give: DK, Higgins Get: Tyreek, 2023 1st (late)
Give: DK, Harris, 2022 1st (late) Get: Gibson, Mclaurin
Give: DK, Harris Get: Gibson, Pittman
And I found out I have a reputation in my league of overvaluing my players. So.e of these are worse than others, but all easy rejects imo.
3 and 4 are horrible. but then again I'm really low on Gibson relative to most.

Re: 2021 BAD TRADE OFFERS
One guy is an early second second in ADP right now, the other is late 2nd. They're pretty close in market value. I'd be after Swift as well just because he's got a career of being used as a potential bell cow, while Gibson had a light carry load in college and only one season as a bell cow, but both are exceedingly valuable in the current moment and for good reason.abloom wrote: ↑Mon Feb 08, 2021 10:41 amSwift makes way more sense to me than Gibson.MFundercover wrote: ↑Mon Feb 08, 2021 6:12 amI'm with you on being low on Gibson. I told him he needed to bring Swift to the table if he wanted Metcalf and he kept pushing me Gibson.
Guess I'm a "tough sell" in my league, but these were all easy rejects.

Re: 2021 BAD TRADE OFFERS
I’ll never understand the insistence on posting the opinion that you think a trade is not good enough to accept but doesn’t meet some nebulous standard to be posted here.
“I wouldn’t accept this trade, but I don’t like seeing it in this thread of other trades that I wouldn’t accept, because I would click the reject button harder on the other trades” is not a useful or novel opinion.
If you would accept the trade, say something! Mgscott did exactly this, and that was a useful point to make.

Re: 2021 BAD TRADE OFFERS
Disagree. I think you alienate a great deal more potential trade partners with bad offers, then you win trades w/rubes. I'd much rather avoid poisoning the well whenever possible with people.OhCruelestRanter wrote: ↑Thu Feb 11, 2021 10:27 am Every year we have to explain to somebody that a “starting offer” is just the first bad offer you send somebody.
There’s nothing wrong with sending bad offers. There’s no reason to pretend like a “starting offer” isn’t bad.
Otoh, you do sometimes win deals w/crazy offers sometimes, and as we can always note with these boards, there is disagreement generally within the community regarding what constitutes a bad trade offer. I've always felt it's kind of simple, something that based on current market value, is incredibly one sided, but often people seem to think a bad offer is one that doesn't match their own valuations of players (which is nonsense to me personally).
Regardless, it always makes for some entertainment anyway, I just happen to have played with more than a few people over the years that get beyond irate over perceived bad offers, and just won't deal with people after that. I'd rather have a future potential partner, even if they're a bit of a loon or melodramatic, than risk alienating someone I might want to trade with later. It's never possible to guarantee that of course, but I try to build my trades to be reasonable reflections of market value whenever I can.

Re: 2021 BAD TRADE OFFERS
Christian Kirk or Kirk Cousins? I have no interest in Drake, and think he's out of a job in '21 or '22 at the latest, so that doesn't tip the scale, if it's Christian Kirk, I have some interest, Kirk Cousins doesn't move the needle though.Bot101 wrote: ↑Sun Feb 14, 2021 10:21 am I finally got something to contribute. I made offers to get Hurts in a 10 man, 1 QB league. I offered Kirk then Drake and got rejected. I thought both were fair offers. Then I got these as counters...
Give: DJ Chark
Get: Jalen Hurts + Lev Bell
then I got this gem from same guy.
Give: Joe Mixon
Get OBJ + Jalen Hurts
His offers are clinically insane, I think you're lowballing a bit, especially if its kirk cousins, but his are of course much worse (if its Cousins).
