2021 BAD TRADE OFFERS

And I found out I have a reputation in my league of overvaluing my players. So.e of these are worse than others, but all easy rejects imo.

First two are bad, seems like if you took Higgins out of each of them I'd be closer to accepting

3 and 4 are horrible. but then again I'm really low on Gibson relative to most.

I'm with you on being low on Gibson. I told him he needed to bring Swift to the table if he wanted Metcalf and he kept pushing me Gibson.

Guess I'm a "tough sell" in my league, but these were all easy rejects.

I just left a 10tm league because I'm trying to decrease the number of leagues I'm in, I let my friend who's trying to get into more leagues take over my team.

I warned him about a few owners in the league who had a tendency to send bad offers (one in particular)

6 hours after joining the league, he was sent this by said owner:

EDIT: He got another one, literally from the other owner I warned him about

Swift makes way more sense to me than Gibson.

I feel like these are good starter offers that show some semblance of thought involved. He's valuing Tyreek close to DK (which some do), and giving you late-1st value for Higgins which is on the lower end (he'd be more mid-1st I suppose) but not unreasonable. For some reason I can't figure out who Harris is so hard to judge the other 2 trades but Gibson and McLaurin are hot names rn

Every year we have to explain to somebody that a “starting offer” is just the first bad offer you send somebody.

There’s nothing wrong with sending bad offers. There’s no reason to pretend like a “starting offer” isn’t bad.

I don't think it's bad though. Every offer you reject isn't bad. The person clearly showed some thought and showed he had a brain with the offers. I don't consider those to be bad offers, by which I mean bad enough to post them here to be ridiculed. The idea of this thread, or so I thought, are to post offers that are laughably idiotic... to provide entertainment for the others reading. If it's not on that level, then what is the point of posting it here.

Yeah it’s not as bad as some of the comically terrible offers. I think the policing of this thread for offers that “aren’t bad enough” is unproductive, unless you genuinely prefer the other side. I mostly think the idea of “starting offers” somehow being different from “bad offers” is an intellectually bankrupt concept used by people who don’t want to admit that they send bad offers. It’s a pet peeve of mine, I guess.

Also, pretty sure it’s Damien Harris, if that helps.

Whats the difference between someone saying they think an offer is reasonable and someone laughing and agreeing an offer isn’t? Why get so up in arms about it every time? One persons bad offer can be stated that it wasn’t by another, and in that case, perhaps the dialogue is better than the rest of the thread itself, which is all just pointless garbage offers that don’t warrant the time or discussion anyway.

I just happened to think the offers were well constructed, giving a variety of options, and close enough to start a conversation. Some people would probably even accept some of those (never underestimate the thirst people have for rb's). I'd welcome those types of offers in all my leagues and fundamentally disagree with the people who are simply laughing them off. Yes, the small percentage of dynasty leaguers that post here think DK >> Gibson, but in most casual leagues Gibson and DK are probably looked at similarly and McLaurin is easily better than a late future 1st. And yet you have people here saying it's a "horrible" offer. Not much more I can say about it. Just my opinion.
