Veto Trade?

Postby Brig » Sat Oct 31, 2020 1:03 pm

Our league is up in arms about a trade that went through a couple days ago...im looking for outside opinions so your thoughts are going to be very helpful.

Team A trades Derrick Henry , D peoples jones and two future 4th round picks

Team B trades Michael Thomas , Drake, Kirk, Higbee , two future 1st rounders two 4ths two 5ths two 6ths two 7ths.

Many in our league are calling for a veto. These two teams are best friends and we are wondering if something afoul is happening.

Non ppr and team B is a power house with Wilson, Chubb, Mccafrey, Henry, Gurley, Claypool, Hilton, Fuller, Cooks, M Brown, Hooper

Also most a team can play is 3 RB unless you are the "away" team where you can only play 2 Rb

In our 20+ league history we have never had a trade vetoed, however this trade isn't even close to fair. Thoughts?

Do you pay up for future picks traded? I understand the idea of an overpay, as a contender. It's NON PPR. So DH>MT for the this year, and if he's a contender, maybe next year, too. He may be selling his future for a ship. Being best friends, makes it complicated, but it can also mean they talk about FF more, so they are more prone to making deals. But the team that supposedly lost is the contender? Drake, Kirk, Higbee and the picks OTHER than the firsts are really not much in non PPR. Just filler. I DO think it's an overpay, but MT has been hurt all year, and the guy making the overpay is the contender, so I don't see a reason to veto, unless you can prove collusion. If it were PPR, this would be a different trade completely.

Lol no. As long as dues are paid for the future 1sts there's nothing wrong with the deal. Henry significantly more valuable than MT in non PPR.

IS the Roster you provided for Team B the updated roster? His WR's are weak, but really good at RB. Seems he traded MT and is going RB heavy to try and win, in NON PPR, RB's are king. Again, I don't see a reason to veto, unless collusion can be proven.

Good points and yes the team competing for a title is team B and they severely overpaid. I look at it like this. If team B gets a bye round 1 which is probable his lineup prior to the trade assuming no injuries looks like this.

Wilson
Chubb
Mccaffrey
Gurley
Thomas
Brown
Claypool or Hilton
Hooper

With Drake as RB 4 and Kirk and Higbee for deph

After the deal

Wilson
Chubb
Mccafrey
Henry
Brown
Claypool
Hilton
Hooper

This slides gurley into RB 4 so he basically traded a ton of picks and some decent players to subtract Thomas out and replace Gurley for Henry. Im scratching my head.

Owner may have a plan to move Gurley or another RB for a WR. Plan may not work but sometimes you got let things go to see where they end.

@OP

Gurley was pulled from the game for half the game. He has a degenerative knee issue. It may (probably was) have been flaring up. He was on the bike, much like he was with the Rams. It took even less time this year, for that to happen, and Hill looked better, beyond the TD. His YPC are bad, TD's are keeping him afloat. MT hasn't played all year, and DH has gone off late in the year, 2 years in a row. It seems this owner is planning for the worst on Gurley and MT. I really don't think it's that complicated. He overpaid to try and win this year. That's his right.

You've had 20 years without a veto, I don't think this is the time.

The trade seems fine to me, especially considering MTs injuries, lack of qb certainty, and recent problems.

Guessing a vote is coming up just now because of this particular trade? Either way:

This forum is super anti-veto, I’d guarantee the vast majority would vote that way. I would too in this trade. Honestly don’t think it’s even all that bad.

Trade seems fine lol. But never veto anyways. But yeah the team receiving Michael Thomas won, but considering Thomas isn’t playing right now, that’s pretty fair.
