14 team league
Start QB, 2 RB, 3 WR, TE, 2 Flex
Owner proposed:
Michael Pittman
TJ Hockenson
for my
Terry McLaurin
2023 1st (projected anywhere from 1.1-1.14 based on new league rules)
I have 3 firsts next year and that teams pick is usually a playoff team but you never know.
Thanks!

Frieiermuth. We could start up to 3 though in the flex spots. Something I just realized is the league is changing the draft format. Losers bracket champ gets 1st overall pick. And to prevent tanking, picks 1.2-1.7 will depend on how good you finish in the losers bracket. So that pick could be anywhere from 1.1-1.14!

The new league rules regarding draft order are pending vote results with league members.
Re: TJ Hock/Pittman vs McLaurin/2023 1st
Pittman/Hock by a lot for me. Hock is top 5-8 TE with upside to go higher. Pittman is the best asset in the deal. I love collecting 1sts but I'd prefer Pittman here.

Possibly the top pick? No way. With your draft uncertainty I wouldn't be interested in any picks at this point. The asset value is too uncertain.

This is where I’m at. I’d rather have McLaurin than Pittman. Who knows if/when Hock will truly break out.VinniVidiVici wrote: ↑Fri Jul 29, 2022 8:54 am Possibly the top pick? No way. With your draft uncertainty I wouldn't be interested in any picks at this point. The asset value is too uncertain.
It would be pretty rough for this picks team to just miss playoffs and go on to win the losers bracket. Even if they do make the playoffs and pick ends up later. That’s probably closer to Hock’s value in a non TE prem. Some may not even give that.
McLaurin and the 1st for me.

let them know this just rewards solid teams who just miss playoffs with top players. theres a reason the vast majority of leagues use potential points for sorting draft order.ChuckDiesel405 wrote: ↑Thu Jul 28, 2022 4:42 pm The new league rules regarding draft order are pending vote results with league members.
also i prefer terry and the first, dont think hock is pulling a 23 first even late with the hype around the class. and theres no reason to have pittman and terry far apart in rankings or expected production

Re: TJ Hock/Pittman vs McLaurin/2023 1st
Exactly. In fact, it incentivizes teams who could make the playoffs to tank for the losers bracket if they don’t think they can win it all. Tanking is only an issue if you use wins and loses to determine order. We installed potential points for the top six picks and it’s gone wonderfully.BigBawseRoss wrote: ↑Fri Jul 29, 2022 11:24 amlet them know this just rewards solid teams who just miss playoffs with top players. theres a reason the vast majority of leagues use potential points for sorting draft order.ChuckDiesel405 wrote: ↑Thu Jul 28, 2022 4:42 pm The new league rules regarding draft order are pending vote results with league members.

Re: TJ Hock/Pittman vs McLaurin/2023 1st
I had the same issue in one league. Loser bracket got 1.01. It caused people who were at the bottom of the playoff bracket to tank to get into the loser bracket, knowing they wouldn't beat other playoff teams, but could get the 1.01.Edgy68 wrote: ↑Sat Jul 30, 2022 4:54 pmExactly. We changed the rule that the loser bracket gets an extra pick at the end of the first round (In our 12 team league the pick was "1.13"). That curbed the weird playoff tank issue, and still incentivized the loser bracket to want to do well.
