Would you rather own Ben Tate or Steven Jackson as of today moving forward? Who has more trade value?

Can you win now? If so Steven Jackson. If you own Foster I would take Tate. Always play for the win. Ben Tate has more trade value because that's the nature of the dynasty beast -- younger players over aging vets.

Foster most certainly will get a long term contract and continue to make Tate one of the best backup RBs in the NFL.

While I think Tate is more than just a handcuff to Foster, I think I'd take S.Jax in this case. Replacing Holmes in that line up w/ S.Jax gives you a nice chance of making the playoffs. You have a contender here and S.Jax could be the piece to push you over the top.

An owner in my league offered me Gronk, T Young, and either Tate or SJack 4 Cj, Ringer, Witten- which there is no way I can pass up...was leaning SJack but i do love to gamble on those lottery tickets in players like Tate...

I bought low on CJ last year (jstew hunter fdavis 4 CJ ringer Tebow) and was looking for that chance to cash him in for a stud like Gronk.

I traded Gronk earlier this year.

I gave: Gronk, Britt, Kevin Smith

I got: Finley, Fitzgerald, Hunter and a first round pick this year.

This was a battle for me, but If I had been offered what you were that is an easier choice. I know we keep talking about JStew coming into his own sooner or later, but it is getting close and the his upside is massive. Witten is no slouch and CJ even in a down year was top 10. Nice trade.

And for the record the Tate and SJax is all about if you are contending now.

I'm not so sure. Unless we're talking about Calvin Johnson, I think JStew, Hunter and FDavis for CJ and Tebow is close to value. I like JStew a lot, and he could be a better RB than CJ2k in 1-2 years. I doubt that Tebow lasts long-term. Everyone is ga-ga about Denver's offense and Tebow as a run/pass threat, but that style of offense chews up QBs and RBs. I seriously doubt Denver sticks with the Tebow Offense, if it means its running backs will get injured routinely and the salary cap implications in losing bodies at that position. Look at the history of wing-T offenses and option attacks. Then, there are the QBs who get hit even worse. Can you imagine Denver inking Tebow to a huge contract, designing the offense around his skill-set, then watching him inevitably get seriously injured and be forced to plug in Josh Johnson at QB? Plus, the cap implications are significant for a QB salary given the frequency of injuries to that position in this offensive style. Denver is playing with fire, IMO.

If you're in a championship window, it's Steven Jackson. However, it's not by as much as you would think. I am a fan of Tate and his talents. I would give Jackson one, maybe two, more years of good production.
