Here we go.
I'd rather start Julio weekly but I'd rather own Dez because I'm still convinced his trade value is higher. But this thread will be interesting to me.

Re: Dez Bryant or Julio Jones
Dez improved this season and was more consistent, however neither his rookie season nor this year was as good as Jones. Both are great players, Julio is better.
If you can't leave at least a 20% tip, you can't afford to eat out.
Re: Dez Bryant or Julio Jones
in a league where we only keep 10 players so 1st and 2nds have both Rookies and FA in the draft, would you offer Dez and a late 2nd for Julio?skip wrote:Dez improved this season and was more consistent, however neither his rookie season nor this year was as good as Jones. Re: Dez Bryant or Julio Jones
So, I own both and have seen both play a lot this year. So, I feel I can be pretty objective. I am one of the biggest supporters of Bryant's immense talent. That being said, Julio has looked incredible this season.
He reminds me a lot of Dez. He's big and strong like Dez. What seems to seperate the two in my mind is that when Julio catches the ball, he has shown the ability to flat-out run away from people. His game-speed seems to be at a higher level. Dez tends to be more of a bulldozer.
I REALLY love them both and feel they have tremendous careers ahead of them, but I'm going with Julio.
As a side note, Julio outscored AJ Green by 1 point in my league (1/2 ppr), while missing two more games than Green.

Re: Dez Bryant or Julio Jones
Is it a big play scoring format? If so, that makes sense since most of Julios TDs where big plays.SpaderDude wrote:So, I own both and have seen both play a lot this year. Re: Dez Bryant or Julio Jones
I own both in different leagues and it's Julio all day long. Dez has a propensity to disapear at times in games ala Tony Romo. Julio has the more game breaking mindset to go along with the game breaking speed. Give me Julio down in the school yard!!!

Standard scoring, but a flat, 3 point bonus is awarded for all TD's greater than 50 yards. Is it a big play scoring format? If so, that makes sense since most of Julios TDs where big plays.

Re: Dez Bryant or Julio Jones
Yup. Never bought into Dez. Like another poster mentioned, he disappears at times. Julio looks good and we're just seeing the tip of the iceberg so far. The bonus just cements it for me.Pikachu: BFF wrote:I'd rather have Julio, but I'm not the crazed Dez worshipper others are.

Re: Dez Bryant or Julio Jones
I don't own either and to me its not close. Julio easily. Dez Bryant only has one 100 yard game in his career (27 games played), and even that was only 104 yards. Julio had 5 of them in 12 games in his rookie year.

Re: Dez Bryant or Julio Jones
I too own both guys. Is it weird I drafted Julio because I didn't trust Dez to get his act together? My take is that Julio has better wheels while Dez has a little better hands. Both need to work on routes (duh), but I think the one thing is that Julio will always give it his all.
For now I say Julio. If Dez really commits to his game the next couple offseason, I say it is a draw.

Re: Dez Bryant or Julio Jones
Julio clearly looks like the more explosive player to me. Combine that with the perception of Julio's strong work ethic and Dez's thug life and it is an easy answer, Julio by a significant amount.
