Rookie only draft when to take IDP

When are you guys starting to look at taking IDP in a 2024 rookie draft 16 team, balance scoring, the best IDP score even the best offensive .

Very early 2nd, I'd be open to taking the top 2 LBs. Late 2nd or early 3rd top DEs. No DBs until late round 4.

so you thinking Turner and Verse are not that good or the Lbers are just really good as I was thinking this was a down year at LBer. De is a hard spot to fill with studs is why I ask?

In most scoring formats (and all I play in) LBs score more than DLs. If the league is sack heavy and tackle light then flip the script, but only the elite DEs (Parsons, Watt) are true difference makers since they consistently hit 12++ sacks. Most fluctuate quite a bit year-to-year, but an elite LB will consistently put up 120+ tackles by nature of getting snaps and where they stand/ their role.

I will be looking hard at one of the top 3 DEs in the mid 2nd round. I wouldn’t personally look at any other position of IDP until the 3rd.

Probably oversimplifying it, but if you want safe floor and possible year 1 starting production, then you go Verse.

If you want to shoot the moon and hope you get the next Khalil Mack, go Dallas Turner

Thanks, ended up moving the pick for a future 2nd, but am trying to move back up into the early 3rd to grab one of these two now. It's a tackle heavy league, so if you aren't an elite Tier 1 DE (Watt, Parsons, Mack), the production is replaceable...

I like them both. But needed to recoup some 2025 picks after dealing my future 1st in a different trade.

Agreed but it’s rough choice this year with the lesser De imo vs the wr depth took the wr I wanted.

The league I am in is a little different because we have a 10 team with position limits so each team can only carry so many players in a position although we carry 82 players on each team so the chances are you will have dead end players at each position on your roster at each position. The IDP players were just drafted as followed:

Great seeing IDP chat again. I’m in the 3rd rd of our SF /IDP and I’m selecting after the next pick (3.08). Cedric Gray, Payton Wilson and Trevin Wallace are still on the board and no one has taken a DL yet since this is a tackle heavy league.
