Moves to make to be contender

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Moves to make to be contender

Postby lt1hawk337 » Sat Mar 30, 2024 6:51 pm

Good evening gents,

If I'm being honest with myself, this a team that looks really good on paper with a lot of high value assets, but I would say I have the 4th best team in the league.

I took over this team as an orphan 3 years ago. I have been extremely active on trades to get to this point, mainly trading away RBs because the members of this league value RB so much. What suggestions do you have going forward. 3 years was my timeline for winning, so time to make it happen.

Everyone stays healthy and you are in business. I wouldn’t do anything now except exploring possibilities on moving up in the draft. Definitely don’t reach just check. Your team gets off to a hot start and I’d be buying assets to take me over the finish line.

Continue to build through the draft. You still need a QB, RBs, and a TE to be a contender IMO.

I think the QBs are fine, rb needs some work and I be looking to either move way up in draft or somehow get a top WR1.

You definitely need another QB. Burrow is very good when he plays, but you only have Trey "Never Starting" Lance behind him.

Other than that, it's a decent contender in the hope-for-the-best kind of way. Two or three players step up, this team should be fun to manage this season.
TEAM 1:
12 Team ppr w/20 keepers - start 1QB 2RB 3WR 1TE 1FLX 6IDP 1DEF
QB: Tua, Lamar, CWilliams
RB: Etienne, Pacheco, JFord, Corum, JWright
WR: Lamb, JChase, Waddle, Pickens, Q Johnston, DeDouglas, MCorley
TE: Goedert, Okongwo
DEF: Cowboys, Ravens
IDP:(LB) Bolton, DLloyd; (DE/DL) Sieler; (S/CB) Pitre, Bates
2023 & 2022 Champion: 2020 third place: 2019 Champion

TEAM 2:
14 Team 30roster SF/ppr/TEP - QB/RB/WR/TE/5FLX/SF
QB: Tua, CJStroud, Carr, AOC, MWhite, Lock
RB: Etienne, Stevenson, GusE, Singletary, AJD, CEH, Spiller
WR: Amon-Ra, Kirk, Dell, Thielen, Gallup, VJefferson, Ch Jones
TE: Andrews, Waller, Taysom, Smythe, WMallory, JOliver

I do have Levis as a backup qb. I'm trying to move Addison and my pic(s) for 1.01 or 1.02. 1.01 said they'd be interested depending on landing spots.

I like the idea of pairing up a pick with a guy like addison/JSN for a true hammer at a position.

What’s the feeling on older vets like Kupp/Allen etc? I’m not one for investing but if they can be gotten cheap I’m all over it, again this is league dependent.

In terms of QB you need some insurance for Burrow but I wouldn’t be over investing in a 1QB

The positive/curse of this league is that everyone thinks they are a contender. I think that's why it wasn't too difficult to rebuild. The majority of older studs are on the top 2 teams. The top team had a perfect mix of old and new.

In this case I think you just ride the wave, your roster is young enough with no one reaching a cliff. I wouldn’t be overpaying for older RBs

I actually read it as T law as the back up not lance my bad, Levis I think is an ok back up but if Burrow is injured that would derail the year too.
