Prefer to have TE security, do I slight overpay for Andrews in that case? Update DONE

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Prefer to have TE security, do I slight overpay for Andrews in that case? Update DONE

Postby johnnymozart » Fri Sep 22, 2023 12:11 pm

Would you move Drake London and Chig Okonkwo for Mark Andrews?

I am tired of having to guess which TE I will start and can replace Drake with Nico in my WR2 slot, and then Jayden Reed/Rasheed/Spears/current matchup will cover my final Flex spot. I think Andrews is poised to take off again with Lamar.

Rebuild team in signature, I know Drake is another WR building block but I've actually got a great chance to compete this year given league landscape and I'm liking my momentum. Talk me out of it?

Sadly in the te landscape this year to acquire one of the quality one's you need to overpay. Chig is just a throw in so your giving up London and his potential. You know your league better, so if adding him and subtracting London would work then I'd go for it. It's just a robbing Peter to pay Paul deal, you have a steady te, but then are down a top young wr. I don think you can replace the wr easier. Good luck.

I don't even think this is an overpay. I'm very high on London's talent but we truly have no idea when the situation will catch up for him. I would gladly send him to have an elite and set-it-and-forget-it option at TE. If Okonkwo is the grease that gets the deal done, bye bye Chig

London has the age value here but he seems like he could be very up and down week to week in the short term and who knows long term if Atlanta can find their QB. I like Andres based on the in lineup value a team gets by having a top TE. I can see it both ways with all the what ifs but as of now, Andrews is the best piece that puts up numbers. If you are contending, that is the most valuable add.

No clue why you think this is an overpay. I'd snap take that and get Andrews if offered to me.

How is this an overpay? No chance I'd sell my Andrews share for this package.

Take the deal.

Yes, I would trade London for Andrews. I chose to trade Andrews in my 20 team salary cap league and am regretting it still. Massive advantage having a te that is elite. Unless you’re going up against Kelce, you’re dominating that position EVERY week. Git er done

Deal is complete, thanks everybody. He pushed for my 2026 1st (now have 0 firsts in any year but trust the process, I'm most active on waivers/FA and have built this program up from the shits to be a fighter. Honestly, I can do more with 2 draft picks in that earlier year draft than I would with the expectation of being a playoff team in 2025 (and not top 6 pick). The picks I got in 2025 are from a rebuilder.

Final deal was I give:
Drake London, Chig Okonkwo, 2026 1st

I receive:
Mark Andrews, Zach Ertz, 2025 2nd (mid to early), 2025 3rd (mid to early)
