Would you move any of these RBs for Jordan Love?

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Would you move any of these RBs for Jordan Love?

Postby Paul717 » Thu Sep 07, 2023 4:52 am

Question for team in signature. It is only a 1 QB league, but there are 16 teams so decent QBs are hard to come by. I have Watson and his backup, and not much else because I tend to think Dobbs is a JAG.

Would you move any of the RBs in signature for Jordan Love? If so, which of them feels most "even" or would I need to add something? The team that rosters Love also has Goff and Pickett, but I don't think he'd move either of them.

In a 16tm league those RBs are going to be just as hard to come by as QBs are. I'd be willing to move Miller for him. Miller is a late first value and thats the highest I'd go for Love, even in this format. Hes only going to start for you in Bye weeks and if Watson gets hurt.

Can you aim for a cheaper backup? Maybe like Howell if you want upside or an older guy like cousins if you want safety?

It all comes down to price point really. What does he want for Love? Are there cheaper options out there? Who could be cheaper between Love and Pickett?

I am not sure I would even offer Miller in a 16 team league because Love has not shown anything in real games yet. I would be more tempted to offer an ageing RB like Williams.
Team 1: 16 Team
QB's: Fields, Wentz,
RB: D. Harris, D. Montgomery, Kendre M.
WR: Chase, AJ Brown, Aiyuk, Bateman
TE: Waller, J. Woods, Dulich, Mayer

Team 2: 12 Team SF 1ppr, Start 10
QB: Mahomes, Burrow, Watson
RB: Hall, Walker, Javonte, Pacheco, K Mitchell, Dobbins
WR: Godwin, JSN, Pittman, Pickens, Toney, DP Jones, S Moore
TE: Andrews, Fant, Likely
(2024) 1.03, 2.03, 3.03
(2025) Top 3 1st, my 1st

Team 3 SF, TEP, Start 11 ppr
QB: AR, Watson, Young, Levis
RB: ETN, Walker, Pierce, Akers, Pacheco, Herbert, Warren, Kelley
WR: G. Wilson, Higgins, Godwin, Kirk, Bateman, Collins, Doubs, Chark, Shaheed,
TE: Schultz, I Smith, Bellinger, Parham, Fant, Likely, Granson,

I wouldn't offer Miller either. Would need to be cheaper than that IMO.

FWIW - I was offered two thirds for Love in a 12-team, 1QB league and passed on that.

We have no idea what Love is yet and you would only feel better on paper. No need to worry about a QB at this point. Pass and hold.

In a league with 16 teams were you can only start 2 RB without a flex, Miller does lose some value to me based on who you have in front of him. I am not very high on Watson and think Love has looked good in what I have seen over the last 12 months. I would make the move personally

There is an ocean of a gap between a 12tm and 16tm league as far as scarcity of QBs. I doubt anyone is going to sell love for even an early 2nd (pick 17-20) in this format, you'll need to come in a little harder than that.

Where do you have Miller ranked? For me he is a fringe 1st round rookie pick in 12-team (and for sure in 16-team). If you are lower on him than that, then I understand your comment better.

I am a Love owner and i won't trade him for any of those backs. If Love is what i think he is capable of becoming just like the Packers do then that is a 10 year investment of an above average top 15 QB. These backs have between 1-4 years left if that much before they are replaced by younger better backs.

Agree, he is in the 10-15 range in ADP putting him at late first early 2nd in a 12tm. Again, I doubt people in a 16tm league are going to take a 2nd for Love. Miller(or any late 1st asset in the 10-16 range) seems pretty fair.

Update: I created a poll in another thread: viewtopic.php?f=6&t=238207

(Sorry if I breached some etiquette there, and should have simply updated here)

I offered Jamaal Williams for Jordan Love. (I'll admit that was arguably a weak offer) He countered with Dobbins for Love. Thoughts appreciated.

Dobbins is more than I'd be willing to give.

Appreciate this response and others. The Howell owner won't move him, and the Cousins owner almost never trades. But I get the sentiment, seems I should be shopping for cheaper QBs perhaps.

So an update here, and also here: viewtopic.php?f=6&t=238207

I turned down the offer Friday or Saturday morning, can't remember exactly. Saturday afternoon, he upped his offer to include Deuce Vaughn. To return the kindness, I threw in Justice Hill, who I would've had to drop anyway.

So the final trade was: Send Justice Hill and J.K. Dobbins to receive Jordan Love and Deuce Vaughn.

I guess you might call this an ill-timed or well-timed trade, depending on who you ask. Sucks to hear about Dobbins injury, wishing him a full and speedy recovery.
