Thats a good question. I initialy though Palmer, but then started weighing Tebows value as a fantasy player and though he would be the better long term choice, but then I thought to myself, "how long will Tebow be a starter?". I think I would rather have Palmer, but its close.

Both are risks long term, although Palmer has at least through 2012 and Tebow is only guaranteed this year. If I have another top 15 QB, I would easily prefer Tebow given the 2011 upside. If this is your QB1, it's more of a coinflip.

I would lean towards Palmer. It will be interesting to see what happens when Tebow plays a defense not ranked lower than 20 against the run. I think eventually teams will figure out how to defend that offense and make Tebow throw.
Non-PPR, 12 Team - 20 player roster, 1QB, 2RB, 3WR, 1TE, 1RB/WR/TE

QB: Luck, Flacco
WR: AJ Green, J. Jones, A. Robinson, T. Smith, Gordon, Garçon

TE: Kelce, Olsen, Reed

I agree with Chris. Once they stop the run, Tebow isn't going to be able to compete and won't remain a starter into next year. I like Palmer, but only by a small margin.
12 Team, .5PPR, 6pt TD
QB, RB, WR, TE, R/W, W/T, R/W/T, K, DEF
QB-Wilson, Cousins
RB-Gurley, McCoy, Lynch, Abdullah, Ellington, Gore, Perine, Mack, Kelley, Darkwa
WR-Green, Mike Thomas, Demaryius Thomas, Thielen, R. Matthews, Higgins, Ross, A. Steweart
TE-Doyle, Smith

I don't think I would start either unless I was using a QB committee. So maybe both? If I had to choose one, I'd go with Palmer. What do you guys think between Carson Palmer and Matt Flynn? Who has the better short and long term value starting 2012?

Carson Palmer.

I dont think Tebow is Denver's starter this time next year. Maybe Tebow is opening day starter, but he will be replaced.

OAK will commit to Palmer.

Palmer for me and I don't think the players are close. I'm with the people who doubt Tebow will be the starter next year. At that point, he'll be close to valueless as a QB who has proven he can't run an NFL offense. No one will want a backup QB that requires the entire offense to be over hauled if their starting QB goes down. Palmer has promise and I'm not sure Tebow is even rosterable after this year.

Tebow is on borrowed time. Once adjustments are made and the read option offense they're running gets shut down he's going to have problems. Unless he learns to throw in a hurry.

Carson Palmer all the way.

Palmer all the way.

I have a hard time believing John Elway is happy with the offensive product the Broncos have on the field right now. I fully expect they draft another QB, who is a more traditional passing QB, next year. As RedBengal said, Tebow is on borrowed time unless he miraculously improves his passing efficiency.

Palmer. I doubt Tebow starts for very long next year, if at all.

If I could get some guarentee that Tebow would start for some time I would go with him.... Heck I think I would go with Tebow for anything unless it was for the starting job.

Edit: With more wins comes more job security... i dont care how he does it but Tebow gives you the #s. It is now how he did it, just that he does it. The main cons against Tebow are always job security and poor accuarcy and mechanics. You can't just bench a guy who is 4-1

Exactly! How would you ever justify it? If he finishes with a winning record (not to far fetched at this point) or leads them to the playoffs (a little far fetched) how could they justify to the Denver fans that he is no longer the starter this year or next year?
