Big Trade

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Big Trade

Postby Dgwaz » Wed Jun 14, 2023 4:24 pm

Hi everyone. The league I’m talking about is a 10-man 2QB PPR league. In this league I’m a massive contender. I won last year and I’m projecting that my 2024 pick will be a late one. One of my friends has Olave and JT. I am huge on both players. I was messing around with trade offers and floated this trade;

He sends me: Chris Olave, Jonathon Taylor
I send him: CMC, Treylon Burks, 2024 1st, 2024 2nd

My RB room is: CMC, Dobbins, Pacheco, Breece Hall, Perine, Herbert
My WR room is: Garrett Wilson, Higgins, Devonta Smith, JSN, Pickens, Marquise Brown, Burks

His RB room is: J Taylor, Swift, AJ Dillon, Zeke, McKinnon
His WR room is: Lamb, Diggs, Olave, London, Ridley, Diontae Johnson, Aiyuk

Thoughts?

Did you float it to him already? Has he replied?

If those are your guys, I would make that offer in a heartbeat!

I think it’s fair, though maybe a bit more on the CMC side in the short term but he is getting older and you are getting JT back.

Good luck!!

He said he was up for that trade! I just wanted to gauge people’s thoughts on it. It’s going to hurt short term so I wasn’t sure what to think.

I’m trying to figure out this deal.

CMC and JT are basically a wash. Maybe lean slightly to JT but it’s nominal.

Olave is a tier above Burks and you are sending both a 1st and 2nd albeit late

If you are a contender, then go after Diggs and drop the 1st. If you want to do a minor rebuild then go after Olave.

Very interesting deal because if Burks makes a jump, this will have been pricey. Taylor + seems like the better side overall but it does feel expensive. Anyway to hold out the 2nd?

Too me the rb's are almost even, but JT's age being the big factor here that would make me want him for the "long term". I'm easily taking Olave over Burks here. I think that I'd only offer the first here, I think that more than makes up the difference in the deal.

I ended up doing the deal. Very happy with it. However it is interesting how different dynasty communities react to posts about trades like this. For the most part, posters on this forum seemed to agree with it citing logic that I used to come up with the trade idea. Users on another forum really dug into me saying it was an awful trade.

Imo it was a great trade for my teams longevity
