I'm in win now mode and feeling like this leaves me a little on the thin side for RB--putting a lot of trust in Mattison. Would I be crazy to turn this down?

Ugh. Now need to figure out how to boost RB depth a bit. Roster feels a little naked all of the sudden without Saquon.

I'd wait until closer to the season to buy RBs. I too need to add one, but I'm holding off. Tops on my list is Miles Sanders.

I traded Barkley, Daniel Jones, 2.11, and a late 2024 2nd for Justin Fieids, 1.11, and an early 2024 2nd. Barkley’s value is on the fringe. He’s still valued as a top 5 RB, but that’s going to shift quickly. With the question of a holdout, I think that we will soon be seeing the beginning of the drop. The problem is that even if he has a good season, the age concerns will soon kick in as well. This is very likely the peak of Barkley’s value.

Smith is a great piece to build around and looks like a pillar. Barkley is solid but his value will continue to drop as he ages. This may not feel like the best return on paper, but Smith is a top tier WR with room to grow.
