Trade Olave for future picks?

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Trade Olave for future picks?

Postby mzkp54 » Sun May 07, 2023 5:54 pm

Team 3 in sig.

I traded away my ‘24 and ‘25 draft picks during the startup to land Mahomes and Burrow.

Have a rebuilding team hounding me for Olave. I think he may be willing to pay up for him, so I’m trying to decide what asking price makes sense considering my build. He has my ‘24 and ‘25 1sts, as well as a couple other firsts each year. How much of a return as far as future firsts would you want to move Olave with my build? Only players he has of any value are Bryce, ARich, Swift, and Mingo (he doesn’t have his own first)

I don't think you can afford to move Olave or that it makes sense but two 1sts with one almost certain to be early in 2024 based on format makes sense.

Would you trade him for Swift and 2 24 1sts if the firsts are projected mid-late?

I think you take that value too but your WR core takes a big hit.

I think I'd be looking to hold him and move Ekeler and Cooks with their age. You have a very good core of players and I wouldn't be looking to move your youth.

Generally speaking I don't want to move a proven player (unless aging) for picks only. If I move a player like that, I want a lesser starter plus picks back. Also selling young WRs who have shown fantasy relevance is playing with fire. They are the core of the game. Olave is a hold/buy in most situations.

Agreed
If youre moving Olave, I'd want a player(Pickens-London) plus a 1st. Tier down move picking up flexible assets.
