23 1.12 and 24 1st for Kupp?

Postby Viking386 » Tue Jan 10, 2023 9:51 am

For team and signature. So I figured what the hell with my team let’s try and run it back for another title. What do you guys think about this trade? 23 1.12 and my 24 1st for Kupp. I know it’s hard to value a future years pick because anything can happen with injuries and players falling off but this will be the favorite team on paper again so should be a late 24.

If you are all in on next season and think your 1st will be late again, I think the value within your lineup is there. If the wheels come off and your 1st ends up early or front end mid, I am not sure this ages well on market value due to age, but I still think Kupp has multiple solid years in him.

Your RB core makes me pretty nervous but Henry and Ekeler have not slowed down yet...

I debated for a while about blowing it up or going for another title but the offers I was getting for Ekeler were just never going to be worth it. So I figured I’m going to ride these guys till they die. If I can get back to back titles I’ll be happy with it

I would be very cautious trading away future picks with this team. Henry is up there in age, Kamara had a down year. Ekeler looks like a stud, but is getting up there in age. Hopkins older, Evans older, Diontae down year. Congrats on the ship, but I would put your first more like middle of the pack based on age concerns.

I just don't see the need for it to be honest. You just won the championship. You only have to start 2 WRs, and you can only start 3 at most. You have Godwin, Hopkins, Evans, and Johnson. I'd start three RB's and then Hopkins and Godwin at WR myself. But, I don't think you need to sell the farm here and send two firsts for Kupp. Certainly not at this point. I'd hold the picks here myself.

My concern is who is going to be throwing the ball to Kupp... there is a strong chance it ends up being Baker which is going to limit that value

Use the 2 firsts for a better option at wr

I see a cliff coming with that squad much sooner than later. Nearly every WR on your team is going to have ??? quarterbacks next year. Kamara is going to be suspended. The Titans future direction seems up in the air. I would be very leery making that deal.

I mean sure but couldn’t I also argue there is bigger risk in drafting the 1.12 rookie who most of the time never pans out. Kupp isn’t just going away regardless of the QB. He obviously won’t put up record numbers but he will be at worst a WR 2. I’m not worried about Kamara missing 4 games. I remember the same concerns with Hopkins. 8 teams make the playoffs in this league I’m not worried about 4 game suspension. Every player and every team has some type of concern factor. Outside of JJ, Chase, Diggs and AJB I can’t think of a WR that doesn’t have question marks. And those guys are basically untouchable. I get we fall in love with this roll of the dice things called picks but I’ll take the 2-3 years of a Kupp.

Hold until mid-season to see how you're doing. I bet you could get Kupp for a single 1st at that time.

On the Ekeler topic, I moved him last year before playoffs and it looked like this:
Give: Ekeler, Thielen, Kirsey (IDP), 6th
Get: Rhamondre, Damien Harris, Jamin Davis (IDP), 3rd, 5th

Not sure if it'll work out or not. Rhamondre flashed a lot and I took a chance. Nobody would give a 1st for Ekeler which I thought was odd for contenders. Some people are terrified to sell a 1st. I'm usually in the camp of putting the pedal down. Winning trumps draft capital!!!

I think the value is with Kupp because the two 1sts will be very late, AND this is a 1 QB league.
This basically means two 2nd round picks in a SF league.

I would side with the two 1sts if this was a SF league, but since it is not a SF league, I say go get Kupp.

Yeah I took the deal. I have the 2.03 which really isn’t much different than the 1.12 in my eyes. Same roll of the dice tier. I’ll take the guy who will give me close to 20 points per game yet again. If I things go south early I blow it up and trade a vet to a contender for a 24 first. That’s nexts years problem
