Both are a gamble moving forward but I think value is with Hunt being an RB. He may move on next year too which could help his market value long term.

I ended up making this trade. Here’s my logic… I’m gambling on Claypool’s upside. He turns 25 in July of next year opposed to Hunt turning 28 in August of next year. He is nearing that age cliff for RBs… I expect Hunt to Sign elsewhere but I guarantee there will be another RB there like Chubb, maybe even a rookie. I have 2 1sts and 2 2nds next year so I felt the 3rd was fairly expendable.Gator Sens wrote: ↑Wed Nov 02, 2022 8:04 pm Both are a gamble moving forward but I think value is with Hunt being an RB. The deal could go either way and totally understand your thinking. I am not high on Hunt at all so can see it both ways. There seems to be a lot of belief in Hunt within the community heading into next year but as you mentioned, he is 28 and a loaded RB class is coming. I am not sure I buy that the market will be great for Hunt either. RB usually gets the lean on value in a class deal however.DynastyDabbler wrote: ↑Thu Nov 03, 2022 6:14 amI ended up making this trade. Here’s my logic… I’m gambling on Claypool’s upside. Re: Claypool or Hunt+ *Poll*
It's not a bad trade. I just don't see Claypool ever being fantasy relevant as the WR2 in Chicago. I see him as a career emergency flex play, and nothing else. I can't imagine a contender plugging Claypool into a starting lineup every week.
OTOH, Hunt is nearing the last year or two of the age cliff. He's also not getting enough work to help a team right now, and who knows if the next stop will be any better for his fantasy value. If you're not contending this year and/or don't need Hunt to help, there's no risk in making this move.
