Hurts/Fields package swap

Postby Weber27 » Sat Aug 07, 2021 6:46 am

Team 2 in Sig: 12 team SF PPR - win now team

Offered Hurts, Goedert, 22’ 1st (2-5 likely) and 22’ late 3rd.

For Fields, Kupp and 22’ mid 2nd.

Which side would you prefer and what would you need to add or remove to get it done?

The 22' first is what makes this the Hurts side. It mitigates the risk since you can mostly likely draft a QB next year if he doesn't succeed.

If Hurts does succeed then that 1st becomes an extra elite rookie on top for "free"

Goedert vs Kupp I'd probably take Kupp, but Goedert has so many years left as a TE I could see the long term argument there.

(The mid 2nd doesn't do a whole lot for me)

Giving the early 1st makes it a bit closer, but with the concern about Hurts long term and excitement with Fields, I'm guessing its short by a solid asset or pick.

Thanks for the insight. I agree, I guess I’m just getting scared off by the Watson news.

The safer side is with Fields. But the opportunity to start next year with a Fields-level QB in Hurts *AND* a Top 5 rookie pick is worth it to me. Think +Najee/Etienne/Chase/Pitts+Hurts vs just Justin Fields alone..

If that 1st is as early as you think it is, you'll land a replacement player to make up for the loss of Fields and kind of end up where you started.

The real payoff is if Hurts hits and you get a whole new shiny player in 2022.

It's the kind of big boy move that gets you ahead in dynasty. If Watson comes to Philly Hurts value won't completely tank. They'll trade him and he may have end up in Denver or Washington or New Orleans (that'd be amazing.) Plenty of teams need a QB.

Couldn’t do it. Don’t trust Hurts long term at all.

If you got Fields with your pick this year, I don’t think I’d make the move as that likely means you picked early. Taking the early 1st is a do-over at QB at best.

This hinges on Hurtz. If he’s got “it”, this deal leans his way. It’s going to come down to how you feel about him.
