Barkley for Akers+

Team 3 in sig. I have an offer in hand to give Barkley to get Akers and Rondale Moore. Should I take it?

Other players the owner has are Mayfield, Murray, Tua, Cohen, Sanders, Jamaal Williams, Adams, Cole, Marvin Jones, McLaurin, Mims, MT, Fant, Engram, Irv Smith Jr

I’d want to get more than Rondale...though I really do like Akers. Cant lose sight that Barkley is still the greatest RB prospect of our generation and has shown it on an NFL football field.

I would still hold Barkley here and see how he comes back despite a disappointing couple years.

While I might be tempted to do that one straight up, because he initiated contacted I'd want the +. If you're big on Rondale, he might be the plush for you. He might not be for me, but looking at the players from his roster and your roster, I'm not sure the right + is there for me. Either it's too much of a + on his side (TMc/Sanders) or it's not a fit/need for your roster (MJones/Fant).

At this point, I might be willing to sell a little short on Barkley because one more injury and his value might tank. Getting a young RB1 in return might look like a great return a year from now. It all depends on how confident you are in Barkley.

I think Akers is the better choice here. Youth and talent. Plus they just got Stafford who will open up the offense more. Barkley is a risk but could be even more of a value if he comes out hot. Tough decision but that would be my take.

Presuming that that is Javonte Williams, that would be the first player I'd sub out instead of Rondale. I'd give up Barkley for that. Throw back a 3rd, maybe even a 2nd (presuming you're a contender and it's late) and see if he bites.

I'd also be tempted by a Javonte Williams + McLaurin (maybe + a pick) combo for Saquon.

To be honest, looking at your team - you're young everywhere, and QB is really your only question mark - and that should be a cheap acquire in a 1QB league (I'd be trying to get Fields or Lance - or buy a vet that has rushing upside like Wilson or a buy low on Watson)

I would normally say that rolling value upwards into an elite asset like Saquon is what you should be trying to do. I guess it depends what you think your own timeline is vs. the other juggernauts in your league.

Yea I’m worried about Barkley having one more injury and his value tanking like Gurley’s did. I also think the Rams offense does well this year with Stafford plus Akers is talented and gives me a few more good RB years. I think Moore has a chance to be a solid WR2 in the AZ offense with Hopkins getting a lot of defensive attention. One year from now I think at worst I would break even on value as Barkley can’t really go any higher plus his slight age gap to Akers.

For the reasons mentioned above, I really like the idea of swapping Barkley for Akers and some other assets. Moore is an interesting prospect, but I'd need more to move on from Barkley. Ask for a future 1st as well, and see what the other owner comes back with.

I am not moving Barkley for a RB like Akers who I have yet to see a full season of.

I just could not part with Barkley for R.Moore. I like Akers a lotttt, and don't have an issue with him being the best piece coming back, but I'd want TMC or something similar coming back even if I gave like a 2nd too. R.Moore is just not that secondary piece that would have me feel comfortable from moving Barkley. I don't have any fears though about him returning to elite form. He's a once-in-a-decade prospect and I'm not scared at all about him.

Akers BMI is elite. He can handle the workload. Sean McVay is not afraid if running his RB into the ground.

He's also younger than most RBs, Najee, Dobbins, etc.

I'd absolutely do this trade. That Giants O-line is treacherous for anyone standing behind it. Regardless if it's the most generational talent we've seen at the position...

Let's be clear, *both* RBs carry risk at this point.

I’m higher on Rondale than anyone I’ve seen but think there’s a pretty big gap between Barkley and Akers. Since you don’t have a starting QB this seems like a good opportunity to get one. He has 3 in a 1 QB league. I’d ask for Mayfield or Tua on top.
