Who's A Good Buy Low

Postby stockerj » Wed May 26, 2021 5:50 am

Just looking for some buy low guys to gamble on to add depth. Would like it to be running backs, but could go for receivers too.

I would price check:
Mixon
Carson - if contending
A. Jones - based on age, some owners are dumping

Julio Jones - if contending
Sutton
D. Samuel
M. Thomas - is worth the price check
Corey Davis
Gabriel Davis

CEH is my favorite buy-low guy. He is being valued as RB15-20 somewhere in there. Young. Good talent. Performed despite late injury, and even better without Bell in the split. High powered offense. Vastly improved O Line. Need to keep Mahomes from getting creamed and a run game to keep defenses honest will help.

Still valued at a mid-1st in 1QB and guys spending early draft capital last year likely aren't ready to cut bait, but who knows? Seems like a lot of people are pretty low on the guy. I'm a B-U-Y !!!

Jeudy is another one of my favorites at WR. Guy still showed elite separation with atrocious QB play... didn't DEN start a RB at QB for a game? He is still very young and will blossom.

Bryan Edwards and Reagor are two I am also higher on than most. The John Brown signing in LV is more geared towards Ruggs. Smith should help open things up more for Reagor, who will be working more out of the slot.

I'll throw Robert Woods' name out there as well. Just a solid veteran who will give you back end WR1/high end WR2 numbers, and is now playing with the best QB he's ever had. He is just one of those guys that is worth more to a competing team than his value on the trade market reflects. But, if you are competing now, he's a good player to have in your lineup each week.

Ive bought DJ Chark pretty low in a few leagues, also CEH, and its fantasy russian roulette but Ive been able to get Damien Harris practically free. Have yet to pay more than a 4th round pick for him and at that price Ill take a shot on him. Darrell Henderson and Rojo are also relatively cheap and while neither is "THE" guy they have flex appeal and big time upside if an injury were to happen to the starter and would be an easy flip for profit and offer good ROI imo.

I'll second Damien Harris. Would pay a third for him of need be.

Michael Gallup is still my main Buy Low for any roster and any situation. I'd look to give up a third for him, but would have no problem giving up a second for Gallup and a third. He has the talent to step up and outproduce Amari, like he did in 2019, and will get his opportunity no later than next season... as he's entering his prime.

Another is Aj Dillon. His value absolutely plummeted once Jones resigned but he showed well enough to buy for a third or late second, to me anyway.

James Robinson is another guy who I'd have interest in buying for the right price. Will likely get workload and still so young. The talent to produce is there and that can carry him to other teams as well. Id pay multiple thirds or a low end second. Would also look for a second for Jrob and a third type deal depending how low the owner is on him.

Sammy Watkins is a guy who is definitely the least flashy of the bunch but will give you the depth for a third.

John Brown is an older guy so if you can scoop him off a rebuilding team for a third I'd snatch that. Personally wouldn't want to give up a second for him until he proves high performance in that offense though.

With Jeff Wilson tearing the meniscus, I'd look to buy in to Sermon or Mitchell for as low as you can buy them. Sermon likely will be out of price range, considering he was going early to mid second before Wilson went down, but Mitchell might be obtainable for a future third, and I'd pounce on that for ceiling alone.

Kendrick Bourne or Agholar are also guys I'd send offers of a third for. It's impossible to tell who is going to be the Big Hoss in NE (considering jonnu n Henry too), but for a third I'd gamble on one of them.

Considering your post mentioned depth pieces, I took a different approach than Gator's buy-low list. Most of those guys are going to require giving up major assets, but the guys i listed are mostly afterthoughts who can be acquired on the cheap.

He was WR 13, 14, 19 last 3 years. Trending in the right direction with potentially best QB and offense around him.
He’s older but if anything you are buying higher.

I'm in the Robert Woods camp. I would also throw Amari Cooper in there as well. I just paid the 1.08 and 2.08 for Cooper. Gordon and Davis are also good targets if youre making a run for this year. I would pay more than a late 2nd for Davis and two 3rds for Gordon.

As someone who has had shares of Woods over the years it was pulling teeth to get fair value for him in multiple leagues. Maybe some leagues value him differently, but if he is on a team in rebuild mode you could probably get him relatively cheap.

All the above seem good.

Just realized I was looking at DLF rankings rather than ADP so take the below list with a grain of salt.

Ekeler looks to be priced around the same ADP as Mixon and I think he is just as safe with just as high of a floor and ceiling as Mixon.

Higgins and Ayuick both seem to be priced low. I'd much rather swap out of Lamb and take Ayuick plus a 1st.

I know he is a rookie but I feel like Waddle is being ranked too low. I'd be happy to pay his price if that was a possibility. I'll add that I'm all about NFL capital and Toney being ranked next to guys like Drake and Zach Moss is crazy, IMO.

I'm certainly swapping into AJ Dillon for guys like Curtis Samuel and Robert Tonyan(TEP)

I used to agree but at this point he will be 29 mid season and he has had a few injuries. I think I'm ready to roll the dice on guys like the Moore's unless I really need another starter as a contender in a league with multiple flex spots.

If you're looking for RBs I'm always a fan of Kareem Hunt. Hes viewed now as limited since he shares the backfield with Chubb, but he still produces. Only season hes had outside the top 10 was when he was suspended.

Nyheim Hines may be worth taking a shot on too. Even with JTs year, Hines never really went away. Very similar to Chubb/Hunt were JT/Hines at times. Hunt and Hines finished 8 points different by years end.

Brandin Cooks. All he has done is put up 1000-yard seasons, and now he's the WR1 on a team for the first time in a long while.
