This is a bit of a rebuilding team that missed the playoffs last season, but has some solid pieces plus a high pick. Probably just a piece or two away from contending, or some very appealing pieces to trade away for a quick rebuild.
To touch on a rule briefly, each owner gets 3 contract extensions every year. So just because a player's contract might be 0, you could extend that player and their current salary. Check out the league settings/rules to get more information, and I'll happily discuss this and all rules with you further.
