Do I really need Josh Jacobs

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Do I really need Josh Jacobs

Postby bigwilli » Sun Apr 19, 2020 1:11 pm

Hey all,

I have a guy absolutely pulling teeth with me on a trade for Josh Jacobs. Talk me off a cliff, because I am about to pass on the deal.

The team is my "Team 2" in the signature. I think we are settling on these terms:

I receive Josh Jacobs

I send Devin Singletary, 1.05, and 2021 2nd

He has refused me the addition of Preston Williams with all of his verbal might. This is the best I can do. It seems fine, but this has literally been a month of negotiating so, I need another opinion.

Sincerely,

:wtf:

I think it’s a bit high.. so Depends on how you see Dobbins, Akers or CEH. Jacobs proved he can get it done and I typically lean proven asset so I’d try to get the 2021 pick removed.

Jacobs side. Not really a big fan of Singletary and think he gets some RB competition in this draft. Jacobs should be a workhorse again as well as get more opportunities as a receiver.

Jacobs easily for me. He's a bell cow and Singletary is likely to have company in that RB room. Singletary is a sell for me. This is an excellent price for Jacobs IMO.

That's a steal for Jacobs imo, and I think Singletary's value takes a big hit after the draft (or a Buffalo trade for Fournette).

Jacobs is RB5 overall for me and a mid-late 1st round startup pick.

I think that this a too high for Jacobs. I like Jacobs but I also think Singletary is going to "break out" this year. From reading the above responses, I am in the minority opinion here. I think you can add a solid rookie at 1.05 and retain Singletary and your team would be better off. This trade won't hurt your team but it's not one I would make myself.

I’m a huge Singletary guy so I’d take this side. But honestly this could go either way after the draft. If Buffalo doesn’t draft a rb in the first two days, it trade for a Fournette type, then it will have been to heavy a price to pay. If he gets prime competition though, then it may look like a good price on Jacobs. What’s your risk tolerance and how do you see the Buffalo situation shaking out.
Personally I don’t think they are looking to replace or challenge Singletary, but merely complement him. Don’t see the Fournette thing happening at all. We shall see though.
