Is Aron Jones the no1 in GB

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Is Aron Jones the no1 in GB

Postby Krissi24 » Sun Apr 21, 2019 1:57 am

I have him on my roster and a few teams in my league is interested.
I have a feeling he is about to have a breakout year as a true workhorse for Packers.
Is he gonna put up RB1 numbers??

Based on what we saw last year, I think he could be a top 10 back if he gets the bulk of the work. I think he will get a shot about being the guy in Green Bay this year. We should know for sure post NFL draft. I would not move him but for a solid overpay.

I think if you can find a trade partner who feels like you do, sell him. New coach isn’t invested in any backs already there. Could easily see a top rb in this class drafted there. Not even sure the new staff won’t like Williams more anyway.
I feel like this guys value has been hovering above his head for almost a year now, some guys get a lot of love from this community. Don’t be stuck holding when it crashes back to where it should be.

My backs are
DJ
Aron Jones
Mike Davis
Kenneth Dixon

So I am not moving him Without getting a RB back.

One owner is talking about trading Aron Jones for Fournette straight up.

I would take that in a heartbeat. I’m higher on Leo than some around here, I know, but that’s an easy one for me.

Think hard about that. Leo missed 3 games as a rook and like 7 games last year, has angry face GM mad at him, but he is way more talented then Jones. If you like to gamble, trade for Leo straight up. Leo just got busted for driving w/o a license, not exactly being caught with a bag of weed and gun in car stuff. Sometimes you need to gamble in FF, but if Leo busts off you are thin at RB. I probably would make that deal, sounds like Leo owner might be scared, see if owner will add a pick?

I traded him for the 1.02 recently. I think he definitely has the potential to be great. But. His blocking isn’t great so that lets Williams sneak in. And his health has been an issue.

LF > Jones if the Packers do not invest in a rookie RB.

But,

LF >>> Jones if they do invest in a rookie RB.

Take LF.

I’d trade AJ for Leo.

The Packers have a lot of holes to fill, my prediction is they don’t go running back in the draft. Aaron Jones in my opinion is awesome , look at the stats :
Jones had 934 yards from scrimmage in eight starts. That number jumped from 470 to 934 from 2017 to 2018.
He also average 5.5 yards per carry last year which I believe is best in the league.
To me I think he is worth a hold. I do believe however him one for one for Fournette is probably worth it , but LF just carries a lot of injury risk for me.

I like Jone more than most, and his ADP is really high right now but I don’t think GB views him as a workhorse back. I just don’t ever see him getting 18-20 carries a game.

he already broke out as the workhorse and for whatever reason, nobody noticed or nobody remembers. in the 7 weeks post-bye he got 78% of rb touches in that backfield. that is an elite work share. during that stretch he averaged over 19 ppr pts per game.

injuries are a real concern with him and it's also possible that with a new coaching staff they draft another rb though I sort of doubt it with some of the other holes they have. lastly, there's a chance that the new coaching staff goes back to more of a 50/50 split.
12 team ppr, 1 qb, 2 rb, 2 wr, 1 te, 2 flex
QB: Deshaun Watson, Marcus Mariota
RB: Ezekiel Elliott, Le'Veon Bell, Kerryon Johnson, Peyton Barber, Ronald Jones, Darwin Thompson
WR: Amari Cooper, Adam Thielen, Antonio Brown, Will Fuller, DeDe Westbrook, Robby Anderson, Marquise Goodwin, Justin Watson, Albert Wilson, Greg Dortch
TE: Travis Kelce, Vance McDonald, Kyle Rudolph, Delanie Walker, Ian Thomas, Gerald Everett
