Postby Never Veto1 » Tue Aug 29, 2017 2:01 pm

What is everyone doing with their shares of Big Ben? What is he going for? I'm having a tough time figuring out what to do with him.

I sold him with Trubisky for Carr. I am a contender but wanted to move him before it was entirely too late.

Keeping him...hope I have an adequate replacement for him in the pipe and if not make sure I don't deal all my 2018/19 picks away

I think he is probably waffling about continuing playing or not but a new extension might help convince him to play more football

If I am competing, then I probably hold because I know I likely won't get what he is worth in return. He would be more valuable to my team (competing) than someone else I get back.

If I am not contending, then I start putting out feelers but know that I likely won't get top value until mid season when QBs start getting hurt.

I'm worried about all the retirement talk, so I think he's worth about as much as Eli or Carson Palmer, and probably less than Bortles.

Sarcasm or no? Honestly can't tell. I have a hard time imagining trading him for any of those guys. I'd much rather have Ben.

Why would you rather have Ben? He doesn't really outscore the pack to have "win now" value, and he's just as likely as Eli or Palmer to retire next season. He's always been a better NFL QB than a fantasy QB. Bortles might lose his job after half a season but if he doesn't he's still young and he scored more fantasy points in 2015 than Ben ever has. I'd rather have Bradford, Flacco, Rivers, Dalton, and any of the young guys, possibly including Bridgewater, Lynch, Goff, and Kizer if I had other starters. That puts him at about QB22-QB29.

His retirement talk has driven his value way down but shouldn't be as low as some of those guys. If it is I may make some discreet inquiries and see if I can land him on the cheap

Big Ben > Eli & Palmer....however, all of these guys are the same age (pretty much) and one bad year and they could be forced out or simply retire.

In a 2QB League, the good teams are probably already set at QB but they'd have to be the guys you approach.

Because Eli has looked horrendous, and Palmer has very few weapons. Ben is leading the best offense in the NFL. If I had to plug into one of those QBs into my fantasy lineup every week, it would hands down be Ben.
