I do like Calvin better, but I actually think it is close. The thing that gives Calvin the edge is his character imo.. football-talent wise I think it is pretty even.kris_kapsner wrote:Not even close: Calvin

i love what the lions have done this year with their additions on offense.
burleson isn't great, but he will be good just enough that teams have to account for him on the field. and i love the scheffler move with pettigrew.
the one big thing that worries me about marshall is those hips. 2 straight offseason surgeries on hips makes me a bit queasy. the off-field stuff is there to.
i voted for johnson because he is just a physical freak, he can still make plays while double teamed.

Love them both, but Calvin, when healthy, is just on another level talent-wise. Production is the key however, and Calvin needs to prove he can stay healthy. His stats dipped quite a bit due to lack of chemistry w/ Stafford + injuries.
I could see voting for Marshall based on production alone, but I'd still choose Calvin over Marshall in a start-up. Marshall's character issues do play into it for me here, but more so, I feel Calvin is simply more talented.

I voted for Marshall. I have a hard time seeing Calvin ever putting up the consistency to be a top WR year over year. Love his talent, I am just not sure about his ability to stay healthy enough or the offense stabilizing his production.
If you can't leave at least a 20% tip, you can't afford to eat out.
I'm taking Calvin, but I think it's real close.
I think Calvin's health issue is a bit overblown. He did get hurt last year and tried to play through it in some games.
He played 16 games in '08 and 15 as a rookie.
There's no questioning the talent level of either of these guys. They are beasts.
I really think the deciding factor, especially in dynasty, is Marshall's inability to stay out of trouble.
At any point, you could lose him for the season due to suspension.
I don't think being let loose in SoBe is going to help matters either

I will admit I'm a Marshall homer but I still voted for Calvin...
Calvin has the higher ceiling. Greater potential to outpace in yards and TDs in the Lions offense than Marshall does in the Dolphins offense. With the Broncos expecting BM to get 100 catches is not out of the question, with Miami it's an unknown because the two offenses are built differently. We've all seen what Calvin can do with mediocre QBs throwing the ball. Personally I'm excited to see his stats with a maturing Stafford tossing the rock. Plus BM now gets Revis twice per year (contract/holdout pending?).
Disclaimer: Injury history and maturity did not play a role in this decision.
