2nd Rookie WR that should be picked?

Postby BwK » Thu May 05, 2016 10:45 am

Treadwell went 1.2 and you are targeting a WR at 1.3. Who is your pick and why? Make a case if its anyone other than Coleman or Doctson.

Not sure why you're assuming Treadwell is 2.

Assuming Treadwell is going to be the first WR off the board is a dangerous proposition.

I'm sure in many leagues he will not be.

Voted Coleman due to his upside, lack of competition for targets, and age.

Doctson for safety/security.

Coleman if you're okay with a high ceiling boom-or-bust.

What makes Doctson not a boom or bust?

Not to speak for Phaded, but Doctson, to me seems to be more skilled at the WR position as whole. He has the size, speed, tenacity required to play the position at a very high level. He may very well be a boom-bust type in 2016, but it will be hard for them to keep his talent on the bench when the games start counting and ownership wants to be competitive. Coleman should get the majority of the targets this year, and may develop into the unquestioned #1 on CLE, but is that better than the #1 on WAS? I'd argue that WAS is a more stable franchise and they invested a lot in Cousins, so they seem to have their QB. CLE is "going to give Kessler a shot" this year. Doesn't sound like a situation I'd be investing that high of a pick in, personally.

Don't get me wrong, I think Doctson will be good, but he doesn't strike me as any more of a floor player than Coleman. Washington has more stable personnel but situations change.

Doctson for me, I've been debating him and Treadwell these last couple of days its been tough but i think Doctson is 2 the more i watch film of him the more impressed i am. it seems that he comes down with every ball in a 50/50 situation and i think he will be an immediate 750/8 TD guy on the Skins. My only concern with him is his age.

If you can't decide between either of them, try and see what the person that owns pick #4 would pay to "get their guy"

If Gordon doesn't come back (which people seem to believe is built into Coleman's price), then a lot of the statements here would be valid: peppered with targets, no other receivers, etc. etc.

On the other hand, Garcon (I'd probably bet on this guy) or Jackson could potentially be released before the start of the season, thrusting Docston into the limelight, and forcing him to become a big target for Cousins. Increasing his value even more.

Either way, seems that both will have their opportunity to rise or fall.

This thread poll should be:

Does JGordon get reinstated?

or

Does Garcon or DJax get cut?
