I have the exact situation. Davis will be making his first start for me.

I think this may serve as a reminder that sometimes even if the situation is alright - sometimes a QB & a WR do not always connect / get on the same page. We saw that with Cooper & Carr.

IE a player can be on a team as their WR1, and in a situation where you expect him to be fed WR1 targets (or as close to that as you'd expect from Tennessee) but the connection might not be fully there. It seemed last week that Tannehill & Davis did have a connection from the get-go and that was reinforced this week. We'll see if that keeps going.

So not saying Mariota was the problem - just that he was not the answer. IE Mariota + Davis = not successful.

I don't know why you are worried. Last game he had season highs in targets and catches, threw in a TD, and was #2 output on the season for him in yards. Now gets the Bucs who are simply horrendous against the pass (#32 in the NFL by 15 ypg). I started him last week due to bye weeks and he turned out fine. If he posts another 5 for 70 I'd be very satisfied for someone the community had basically written off (I think WR41 at the start of the season in redraft).

No one mentioned McLaurin, but guessing people would take him over Davis as well.

I picked Davis up off waiver wire 4 weeks ago and pretty excited about the turn around. I'm holding till end of year at least. Want to see what happens!

Perception...Tennessee offense is bad, philosophy is run first, they drafted another alpha receiver.
I have had since his rookie season and he's not desired at all in my league, not even as a throw in.

That's honestly insane. Sometimes I wonder if people understand the concept of DYNASTY

He finished last year as the 28th ranked WR based on my league's ppr settings. He appears to be on pace to regress from that number.

When has Tannehill ever been the answer to anything? I watched a lot of the game, Davis is doing his part. He is beating his man but his useless QB's just can't get him the ball. He should have had 2 long TD's if Tannehill wasn't useless. Davis looks good, but looking good doesn't equal points, the problem is he's not worth anything, so those holding him have to keep holding

The stat line on any of the receivers was not good. He was open, but Tandy ended up checking down to Te Smith quite often.

You can’t sell if nobody is buying.

I’d rather hold Davis than flip him for whatever mediocre prospect I’d get with a second/third rounder or whatever other garbage people are offering for him.
