Make this offer for AP?

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Make this offer for AP?

Postby skip » Tue May 04, 2010 10:15 am

Team in signature.

DeWill and Randy Moss
for
AP and the 3.1

We are currently on the 2.12 selection, so the 3.1 would be either Gilyard or Decker as both are still available.

I have multiple 1sts for next season which I could potentially use to try to replace the WR loss I would be taking.

Given the age of DeWill, I think its a good idea to move him. My team should be solid enough to compete for my division and if I reach the postseason there are only a couple of strong teams coming from the others. The team I would be trading to is one of my division rivals. He desperately needs a WR3 (current options are Hester or Burleson) in a start 3 league. Short term, this helps him - long term I think he is taking a hit with the age at RB...

Thoughts? By doing this, I believe I will be hurting my chances this season - though I do have the flexibility of moving the future picks.

I don't think thats enough for AP but it's a fair starting point.

You may have to add one of your firsts to the deal to get it done.

I wouldn´t accept it if I were the other owner. I´m not a fan of DeAngelo and Randy Moss is getting old. If he accepts.. it would be great for you.. but I doubt it.

Wow, really? Here I am thinking I am overpaying and nervous about doing it... Randy might be 33 but was the #2 fantasy WR last season. Is the issue more with DeWill?

No.. the issue is that we´re talking about the no 1 overal FF player in All Day! Taking that into consideration, DeAngelo(age 27) and a 33 year old WR just isn´t enough. Moss is good, but his value is limited due to his age.If we were talking Calvin Johnson or Brandon Marshall for example, it might be a different story.

Exactly. You will need to add in at least one of those future first round picks.

Sounds like most of you would turn it down, so I went ahead and made the offer to get his reaction. Given his need at WR, he should at least consider it even if I have to add another piece to get it done.

Can't hurt to make the offer to see what happens, I think the big thing here is that most of us feel that ADP hasn't reached his ceiling yet, he just turned 25, is expected to catch more passes, and now should have more chemistry with Favre and the rest of the Vikings. DeWill is 2 years older, still has to compete with Stewart, and could be held back by CAR breaking in Claussen at QB this year, which is why I think you would need to kick in more to make the deal happen.

If declined, I'd make the same offer but add Braylon Edwards. He's of little actual value, but his perceived value might be attractive to the other owner.

You might want to start a fresh thread for this item. It will probably get better responses.
