Why can't I pull the trigger?

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Why can't I pull the trigger?

Postby GrillMeister » Fri Apr 16, 2010 2:40 pm

I just picked up an abandoned team and trying to rebuild.

What I get: AP, Randy Moss, 1.11
What I give: Roddy White, Dallas Clark, 1.2

Team I inherited:
Flacco, Romo, Stafford
Reggie Bush, Portis, Chester Taylor, Pierre Thomas
White, Britt, Berrian, Burleson, Jacoby Jones, Nate Washington, Roy Williams
Clark, Keller
Prater
Baltimore
1.2, 2.2, 3.2, 4.2

I'm having a hard time letting go of the 1.2. I'd rather trade down but not to 1.11 and I think Moss is reaching the twilight of his career soon so I want to keep my team as young as possible. But still, AP in the deal makes this an offer I can't refuse, especially with my RBs.

I'd pull the trigger here, getting AP is too good to pass up for you. You can still get a quality player at 1.11 and you have the room to trade one of your 3 QBs now too.

x2...great value in this trade and I don't think you can pass it up.

Trade

Pull it! You'll be a little old and thin on the WR side of the equation and even thin on the RB, but AP solidifies your RB situation. QB is fine. TE is something you can address at any point. I'd also look to move those picks for established WRs .... younger, but producers.

What do you think of my counter offer:

I get: Ray Rice, Shonn Greene
I give: Roddy White, Dallas Clark

I don't think it has much of a chance to get accepted.

I would say there is absolutely no chance for that deal getting accpeted.Even if you would take out Greene, I would not accept that offer if I were the other owner!

You should run away with the first offer and Peterson. Its a gift my friend! He is the no 1 overall FF player... way more you will get with that 1.02 pick!

How does his complete roster look like?

RB: Breece,Walker,Taylor,BRobinson,Allgeier,Spiller
WR:Jefferson,Lamb,DJMoore,QJohnston,Jameson,MMims, T.Marshall,Shakir,Gallup

2024 picks: 1.11, 2.10, 4.01, 4.05, 4.07, 4.11

Take the first offer. You can turn around and deal the 1.11 pick to secure a solid TE option.

White -> Moss is lateral on talent, though you lose age
Clark + 1.2 wouldn't be enough to get AP in basically any league...so count your blessings you would be getting the 1.11 with him
If you can't leave at least a 20% tip, you can't afford to eat out.

You could aks for Colston instead of Moss... but to be honest: you really should run away with that first offer!

You are crazy if you don't jump on that first offer!!! You will be kicking yourself if you don't do this deal!

For the record...No Way that second offer gets accepted!
