I believe I had people pinning 9/11 and the Kennedy assassination on me for my stance in that thread...that one and the Crabtree one! lol...though I bet Richard Sherman would be on my side about my stance in the Crabtree one right about now.

Either Julio or Gordon. I think I slightly lean Gordon. Regardless, it's gotta be one of the big 6 WRs.

Surprised you would still want Julio over AJG. I guess am just risk adverse.

Hypothetical: if Gronk had no (or normal) injury history, would he be the 1.01 in startups?

Easy YES. In his 2nd NFL season, at age 22 he posted a 90-1327-17 statline. That is ridiculous WR1 #'s, never mind doing that as a TE. Even if he came close to that, while remaining healthy, there is no doubt he would have gone 1.1 in many startups.

Yeah I tend to think this as well.. I mean we saw how long Tony was dominant at TE... why couldn't Gronk? Especially with no injury history

When I saw the thread pop up Gronkowski was whathe came to mind. Jimmy Graham's recent struggles only seem to highlight just how good Gronkowski is when healthy. Beast.

I'd take Andrew Luck first overall.

There's a crazy amount of Luck love on these boards. Don't get me wrong, I think he's great, but he's still an early- late 2nd round pick for me (depending on the leagues QB scoring). QB production is still too replaceable. Give me AJG at 1.1

I ask that because just today a friend a I were discussing that. In a local startup last season, a team took Luck #3 overall. We laughed & ridiculed at the time. In hindsight, he's the one laughing now, haha. In a 1st round that included many bust such as Trent Richardson, Doug Martin, CJ Spiller, & Adrain Peterson, that Luck pick doesn't look bad at all
*to stay with the thread, Gronk went 2.03 in that startup last season

This is tough! I would lean Gordon but there are so many WRs right there now. All of them are so great.

Can you give your reasoning for picking Gordon over the rest?

I ask because we have the following downfalls for the big 8 in no particular order

Calvin - Age
DT - Really no major concerns
AJG - Really no major concerns
Julio - Foot
Dez - ......Attitude maybe? back I guess?
Gordon - Recurring legal troubles
Alshon - Cutler
Antonio - Really no major concerns

Really out of those guys, i would put Gordon at the end of that least or near it, simply because of how on the edge he is. At any given moment we could be getting an espn text saying "Cleveland Browns WR Josh Gordon has been released from the team after being caught with 4oz of Marijuana in his camouflage Toyota Supra"

The guy is probably more talented than anyone on the list, but i dont think i pick him 1.1 where id much rather have someone that is one poor decision away from not playing.

To contribute to the OP, i take AJG. I dont think hes nearly as fun to watch play as Dez, Julio, DT, and Calvin, but we cant really deny the results and consistency.

I understand, just something about Gordon on the field when right wows me. But there are all so close for me honestly. But I would absolutely put Jordy in there before Alshon.
