Also, any thoughts on RB Louis Rees-Zammit, in KCC? Is this all just camp fodder and BS or should we start paying attention? I'm always looking for RB plays in my RB-premium league, and he was undrafted in our recent rookie draft.

I feel like people do this with a random practice squad level rookie every year because they're on the Chiefs

This bet thing with JD is probably nothing though.
It's absolutely nothing. The only way it could be, is if they made it through an official platform where it's an official wager. It wasn't, and this is a big nothing.
Its incredibly stupid. People were just praising Brady a week or two ago for offering to pay his blockers for successfully executing screen plays while in Tampa. Not a bet exactly, but not all that different either: if you manage to successfully execute this, I will pay that....

Unless these people are betting at casinos, online services or bookmakers, it should be immaterial. Personal bets have been going on for decades, I would be there's been at least 500 of these bets just the last 20 years alone in the league that nobody heard boo about because the guys were smart enough to not mention it, but even if they did mention it, this isn't what is trying to be blocked. What's trying to be blocked would be players that are compromised by bets to bookmakers, and players that are deliberately altering performances for pay offs neither of which comes under this umbrella. Its incredibly stupid. The NFL needs to keep in mind why they have rules to begin with, and not focus obsessively on any little side bet which is actually a competitive bet which should bring intrigue.

Well, if you never know then put in a FA bid on me. I’ve got good vision and run with determination. Does your league give bonus points for 65 yo fat white guys with crappy knees?

Brissett and Darnold are the ones you want on that list.

I imagine you get starts out of them both until their BYE / week 6 sorta range.

Brisket for sure. JJM has a chance to earn week 1.

Both JJM and Drake have a chance, naturally.

But I see both benefitting a lot from sitting first, and the vet in front being pretty serviceable.

Darnold throwing in that scheme to that skill core could actually be pretty good... (*ducks thrown tomatoes*)

If you think Darnold is serviceable, I must have been watching a different Darnold.

Here he is in Week 18 of last year vs. the Rams.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OJxrc7lvlxw

Perfectly serviceable. Not a world beater. Better than a Rookie? Perhaps.

But to the Darnold you watched historically, think about it... he was pretty much always in the worst situations imaginable on the Jets and then Panthers.

Last year he got to learn under Shanahan. He already has a year head-start learning that system, which is closely aligned to MIN / O'Connell's system.

His weapons are the best he's ever had in JJeff, Addison, and a semi-healthy Hock. (If you want to call it a push with SF then ok)

His competition at QB was the 5th QB taken in the draft. MIN barely moved up to get him. JJM is noted as being a total wildcard from an evaluation POV, and could just as likely be a future bust instead of a true answer. (His own team valued Drake Maye more than him to the value of 2x additional 1st round picks according to league sources)

Darnold is only 26, and has never had a better situation than this. He was raw coming in, but always had good arm talent. This is probably his last, best shot to make something of his career.

I'm just saying.

I think it says something that when you are looking for positive past performance, you found a sample size of 1 game. Just saying.
