Tier up vs Depth

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Tier up vs Depth

Postby BabyChark23 » Tue May 14, 2024 12:53 pm

12 Team 2QB PPR Start 2QB 2WR 2RB 1TE 3Flex

My team:
QB: TLaw, Herbert, Levis, JJ McCarthy
RB: Gibbs, Rhamondre Stevenson, Javonte, JK Dobbins, Trey Benson, Blake Corum
WR: Marvin Harrison Jr, Garrett Wilson, Tee Higgins, Aiyuk, Nico Collins
TE: TJ Hockenson, Njoku

Given this team, would you do this?

Give: Javonte, Njoku, Tee Higgins, 25 late 1st

Receive: Etienne, Trey McBride, 25 early 2nd

Seems pricey, but I think it gives me a significant upgrade at RB and TE with Hock injured. As good as he was, I’m expecting Njoku to turn into a pumpkin again with Watson starting. I also thought of maybe countering by eliminating the pick swap and just throwing in my 2nd instead.

If you can not send your 1st, I like it quite a bit. With the pick swap, I'm on the fence but leaning against because I like Higgins quite a bit.

Nah. The biggest reason to do this is the upgrade to McBride and in this format I don't care enough about TE to do it. I'd rather ride Njoku until Hock is healthy. TE is one out of 10 spots in this league. Not that important.

I'm passing, too, given the state of your team. I think your more set for a run in 2025+ than in 2024, and Tee for Etienne feels less exciting when looking ahead. And I'd realllllly want to hang onto your 1st just in case things do take a full year to develop.

To be clear: I love your team!!! Not a knock in any way. I just think it's set up for next year more than this.

If you could drop both picks off, I'd do it, but I doubt that's of interest for other manager (maybe though!)

Agreed, also passing since you don't need McBride. Higgins and ETN are pretty equal all things considered, and the TE upgrade doesn't really move the needle for me since you already have Hock.
