This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Big Trade

Postby The.Big.Spank » Tue May 14, 2024 4:17 pm

I have this offer for Team 2 :

Give JSN, 2024 2.03, my 2025 1st and another 2025 1st from not only the worst team in the league, but the worst team I've ever seen. They catch here is that draft order is determined by a lottery so even though I would be willing to bet my soul to the devil he finishes in last, that does not promise him/me the 1.01 in next years draft.

Get: Chase

I have the 1.03 in this years draft and will get either Nabors or Harrison, most likely Nabors.
Team 1: 16 Team
QB's: Fields, Wentz,
RB: D. Harris, D. Montgomery, Kendre M.
WR: Chase, AJ Brown, Aiyuk, Bateman
TE: Waller, J. Woods, Dulich, Mayer

Team 2: 12 Team SF 1ppr, Start 10
QB: Mahomes, Burrow, Watson
RB: Hall, Walker, Javonte, Pacheco, K Mitchell, Dobbins
WR: Godwin, JSN, Pittman, Pickens, Toney, DP Jones, S Moore
TE: Andrews, Fant, Likely
(2024) 1.03, 2.03, 3.03
(2025) Top 3 1st, my 1st

Team 3 SF, TEP, Start 11 ppr
QB: AR, Watson, Young, Levis
RB: ETN, Walker, Pierce, Akers, Pacheco, Herbert, Warren, Kelley
WR: G. Wilson, Higgins, Godwin, Kirk, Bateman, Collins, Doubs, Chark, Shaheed,
TE: Schultz, I Smith, Bellinger, Parham, Fant, Likely, Granson,

How many teams are in the lottery? Is it a weighted lottery? How far can that pick drop? Is this a dynasty or keeper?

Chase would be a significant upgrade to your team that looks to be competitive, but I think that’s quite a haul. I’d try and hold the 2.03, I see JSN taking a step forward over the next 2 seasons big time.

It's weighted, but 6 non playoff teams qualify, so the pick can drop all the way to 1.06 and it is a dynasty league.

This is a tough one. Feel like it's an overpay, but not by a ton. Can you get the 2nd dropped? Or swap JSN out for someone less?

I’d make the trade for chase and wouldn’t let a second round pick stand in the way of acquiring him. If you don’t make this trade you’ll like end up regretting not doing so. When there’s a guy like chase that can be acquired you have to roll the dice and bring him into the fold those opportunities don’t come by often
Qb: Hurts, geno Smith
Rb: JT, Gibbs, Montgomery, Roschon, Z. White, Ty Chandler
Wr: AJB, JJ, Chase, waddle, G Wilson
TE: Pitts, Kincaid, Likely, Njoku

2024 1.01, 1.04, 1.05
10 team
9 players kept yearly
Non PPR
Not super flex
Start 1/1/2/1/2 flex
1 point per first down
All tds 6 points

This is basically the equivalent of giving up 3 1sts and a very early 2nd for a WR…it gives you some high end WR production but takes alot of depth from you.
Do you feel you’re a legitimate contender this season? If so make the deal, If you don’t feel your a legit contender I’d hold off as I think JSN increases his value, and if that pick lands at 1.01 next year, you have another significant trade asset.

So if you believe you’re a contender yes.
If you don’t feel you have a top 3 team (with Chase) then I’d hold off

Take it.

JSN might end up being useful but that's speculation at this point.

I'd make the offer minus JSN.

Although...when I look at the rest of it, assuming YOUR 1st is later, it all comes down to that other first. I think the value here is all in whether the crappy team is the 1.01-1.03 or the 1.04-1.06. If it's theh 6, I'd do all of this, probably including JSN. Chase is elite.

Yes… make the trade to get Chase. It’s definitely a win now move and you get to keep your high pick in this years strong draft class. If you’re adding Harrison or Nabers… you’re set.

The offer isn’t being accepted if you remove JSN. Very few people are accepting 2.03, 2x 2025 1st (where the highest could be 1.06) for Chase. There is too much risk and not enough value.

If you can drop or reduce the 2.03, go for it, but as is reasonable, given the future pick uncertainty involved.

Yeah if you could drop the 2.03 to a later pick this year, I’d make the move. With it being 2.03 like I said before that’s essentially 3 1sts and a very early 2nd, which is SF QB value. As is, your paying to much

I countered with

Give: JSN, 2024 2.03, 2025 very early 1st and my 2025 1st and 2nd.
Get: Chase, 2024 1.12

I wanted to use my early 2025 1st on another premium running back, but my thinking is Benson has a very good chance of being there at the 1.12 based on other team needs, talent and where Benson went in my other drafts. I would not say Benson is elite, but he is on a good offense, has good draft capital, good Metrics, and seems to be the heir apparent in AZ, so that makes up for losing out on Judkins/Henderson/Singletary next year, plus I value WR more than RB's, even very good ones only seem to have a year or two of high end RB1 production due to injury.
Team 1: 16 Team
QB's: Fields, Wentz,
RB: D. Harris, D. Montgomery, Kendre M.
WR: Chase, AJ Brown, Aiyuk, Bateman
TE: Waller, J. Woods, Dulich, Mayer

Team 2: 12 Team SF 1ppr, Start 10
QB: Mahomes, Burrow, Watson
RB: Hall, Walker, Javonte, Pacheco, K Mitchell, Dobbins
WR: Godwin, JSN, Pittman, Pickens, Toney, DP Jones, S Moore
TE: Andrews, Fant, Likely
(2024) 1.03, 2.03, 3.03
(2025) Top 3 1st, my 1st

Team 3 SF, TEP, Start 11 ppr
QB: AR, Watson, Young, Levis
RB: ETN, Walker, Pierce, Akers, Pacheco, Herbert, Warren, Kelley
WR: G. Wilson, Higgins, Godwin, Kirk, Bateman, Collins, Doubs, Chark, Shaheed,
TE: Schultz, I Smith, Bellinger, Parham, Fant, Likely, Granson,

Might as well try to negotiate a bit.

It's a lot to pay, but that's what it costs to get young studs. You have really good depth across the board, so it's probably worth it for you to package pieces to add a true difference-maker in Chase.
