Trade 1.01?
In one of my 12 team SF TEP PPR IDP leagues, I have picks 1.01, 1.04, 1.06, 1.08, 1.12, 2.05, 2.06, 2.12, 3.01, 3.04, 3.09, 3.12, and 4.01.
My QB room is solid, as is my TE room, WR and RB are my weak links.
Though I have the 1.01, 1.02 and 1.03 both need QB's and both are interested in my 1.01. I want MHJ.
So, which one of these trades would you prefer?
Trade A1: Give: 1.01, 1.12, 2.12
Get: 1.02, 1.07
Give: 1.01, 2.05, 2.06, 2.12
Get 1.02, 1.07 This would give me six 1st round picks instead of 5, but I lose all of my 2nd round draft capitol. 1.02 owner has zero 2nd round picks.
Give 1.01
Get 1.03, 2.03, 2025 2nd

If you don’t need a QB, I like deal 2, likely gets you Nabers and Odunze, if Odunze isn’t there at 1.7, you can trade 1.7 for a vet WR

Re: Trade 1.01?
No option for staying with 1.01? Even with a solid QB room, need an overpay to move the 1.01, none of these are it.
Sit tight, the value of 1.01 will only go up.

Re: Trade 1.01?
I'm with this. 1.01 will continue to rise. Been saying this for a while - but we haven't seen the full impact of the CW hype yet. The moves the Bears made in anticipation of adding CW are terrific for any of holding the 1.01. Just wait.

Re: Trade 1.01?
Hold for now. These are fine. To move 1.01 you need wow.
Re: Trade 1.01?
In TEP and IDP those mid and even late 2nds are still money. If I'm you I want nothing to do with adding anything on your side of any deal. Wait until you get 1.2 and some extra picks without adding on your side.

Re: Trade 1.01?
Well my QB room is ranked #1 in the league according to Dynasty Daddy.
I mean I could stay at 1.01 and pick MHJ, but I know that 1.02 wants Caleb desperately.
He is expecting me to pick MHJ at 1.01, and that Caleb will just fall to him at 1.02.
However, I told him a week ago that 1.03 has contacted me about Caleb at 1.01 as well.
1.02 seems to want to lock up the 1.01 right now.

Re: Trade 1.01?
I agree that the 2nds have some value.
However, another concern of mine is roster space, as I have 13 draft picks and only 6 empty roster spaces at this moment.
That is one of the reasons I am trying to cut back on amount of picks too, fewer cuts to make.
I also have four 3rd round picks.

Re: Trade 1.01?
If you're doing the 2nd deal, drop one of the early 2nds and try to package it separately. Seems like the best option, but feels like you're sending back too much with both those early 2nds.
Re: Trade 1.01?
I definitely get what you’re saying but don’t ever fall into the trap of sending away picks for free just because you have an abundance. You have plenty of time to turn those extra picks into value for your team. I agree with most responses that you shouldn’t be adding much to your side. I’d want 1.02 + 1.07 for 1.01. If he’s desperate for Caleb he will probably do that and it’s a fair ask in SF. Maybe add a 3rd to your end if it helps. Hold those extra picks instead of just shipping them off and package a couple 2024 2nds for a 2025 1st or a couple 2024 3rds for a 2025 2nd. Trade this year’s picks for future picks so you don’t lose value but also don’t have to deal with cutting a bunch.MacDaddy123 wrote: ↑Wed Mar 20, 2024 10:23 pmI agree that the 2nds have some value.

Also, it’s okay to let the 1.02 owner know that even if 1.03 doesn’t trade up you draft for value not positional need. Even if you don’t need a QB you’re taking the most valuable player which is probably Caleb. That might not be true for you (even though it should be) but it’s plenty fair to posture that way.

Re: Trade 1.01?
That is a good idea, and one I have been considering recently. Thinking of just offering 1.01, 2.06, and 2.12 for 1.02 and 1.07Menace2010 wrote: ↑Thu Mar 21, 2024 7:42 am If you're doing the 2nd deal, drop one of the early 2nds and try to package it separately. Re: Trade 1.01?
That offer has 0% chance of being accepted. This guy has no 2nd round pick in 2024 or 2025, and we start 11.Gazzerk wrote: ↑Thu Mar 21, 2024 8:10 amI definitely get what you’re saying but don’t ever fall into the trap of sending away picks for free just because you have an abundance. That might work in a shallower league, but not in this league.
I mean after he turns that down, what's my next move?
Just take MHJ at 1.01 and let Caleb fall to him at 1.02?
He really wants Caleb, but he is not sure that he has to trade up for him.
He knows I'm not taking Caleb. Now he doesn't want 1.03 to jump him, but that is his main concern.
Re: Trade 1.01?
Fully agree, that is MHJ AND Oduzone/Bowers/JJM (if good DC) for Caleb.MacDaddy123 wrote: ↑Thu Mar 21, 2024 9:33 pmThat offer has 0% chance of being accepted. This guy has no 2nd round pick in 2024 or 2025, and we start 11.

Sending two late-ish 2nd picks seems fair.
But I also agree with the others that you shouldn't just throw in the picks because you have so many.
There must be enough opportunities to upgrade current players or consolidate to a better draft position etc.
Re: Trade 1.01?
Now I’m curious… what is your solid QB room?
