Dak vs Purdy, as it stands, if of course, you factor out Tyreek, which I do, just based on what MVP is now, sadly.
If Dak was on another level last night, where does that put Purdy - who on the road with 30% fewer opportunities put up significantly bigger numbers against the same team the week before?

...and if you play in a Tantrum Premium League, you would also get 10 points for Mahomes too

They keep doing "enough" to win (except today) but they don't look dominant very much anymore. I worry for what this offense will be without Kelce one day. Rice has some juice and maybe Noah Gray could flash if given the opportunity but they are going to need to add a superstar at some point to keep this a championship team. Feels like they are running on fumes right now. Maybe I'm overreacting but it's just a vibe I'm feeling. I don't see another SB trip this year.
Hill was a lot of the juice that made them dominant.
Agreed. Kelce is still savvy, but he's lost a bit physically, and teams have another year to game plan vs WR's that aren't good. I know they won a SB without Tyreek, but are we really going to pretend that him on that SB team would mean they wouldn't have? Considering how the Chiefs spent that money.....An overpaid tackle that they benched for a while, MVS etc.

Mahomes is a fantastic player, but he's not immune to the talent around him, like any other.
Now let’s just pump the brakes a little on the Mahomes adoration meeting. The truly great QBs made chicken salad out of chicken ****. They lifted otherwise very mediocre players with their play. Look at what Brady had to work with for years and still got it done. Favre made stars out of FBOC Antonio Freeman and Bill Schroeder. Those are a couple of examples.

If you’re saying that Mahomes requires stud receivers to make their offense elite, then maybe Mahomes isn’t the generational stud that he’s purported to be.

I'd still like the real MVP, Tyreek Hill, to win. On pace to break 2k receiving yards and 17TDs.
I think Hill has a chance, but only if he breaks the single season receiving record. Otherwise, I’d agree that Dak should be the front runner right now.

Yeah, I don't get how Dak is the MVP, but Purdy, who has better numbers across the board and beat Dak H2H and beat Hurts H2H....is not? All these QBs play with a ton of talent whether on offense or being supported by the defense.

If a QB wins this year they might as well rename the award.

Even if Hill goes over 2K, he won't win.

Kupp led the league in receptions, receiving yardage, and receiving TDs two years ago, and was 53 yards away from 2000. And he only finished 3rd that year. The precedent has already been set.

The precedent has been set for WRs who fail to achieve 2000 yards. Tyreek might set (continue) the standard for WRs who succeed at exceeding 2000 yards.

If Brady had WRs make boneheaded plays like Toney & MVS, he would’ve lit them up. Talent wise, KC’s WRs aren’t horrible, they need Mahomes To kick them in the a$$.

Fortunately it sounds like Jefferson has avoided a "significant" injury so hopefully that means he'll be good to go next week.

I agree with this post but TBH, I wouldn’t be shocked if they made it to the SB, simply because of how bad the AFC is. No matter who comes out of the AFC, I don’t see anyone beating the 49ers. But KC just needs to get past Miami or Baltimore to make the big game, and both the dolphins and the Ravens have some warts for sure.

It's looking a lot like I'm going to miss a bye in one league because I didn't realize Kelce was out week 1 until the announcers said it a few mins before kickoff and MFL had already locked lineups so I lost by 2.5. I guess I deserve it.
