TIme to Acquire Kyler?

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

TIme to Acquire Kyler?

Postby Dibbles » Wed Oct 11, 2023 8:49 am

I'm 5-0 pushing for 3peat and just traded for Geno in a SF (as a throw in), and he is now my QB3. Another fringe competing team (3-2) only has Stroud, Tua and K Murray at QB, and he is on a perennial search for a usable QB3. I'm wondering if I should prey on his need for a QB by offering Geno for Murray (plus whatever secondary pieces need to be added on either side). I can easily fill the superflex spot with a solid non-QB (Evans, Kyren, Mattison, etc) for my Burrow/Purdy bye weeks, and can also afford to lose a few games down the home stretch . . . but wondering if Kyler would be a smart add for fantasy playoff time? Especially if JJ doesn't return rest of season. Many thanks in advance!

12 team PPR, 1 QB, 1 SF, 2 RB, 3 WR, 1 TE
Burrow, Purdy, Geno, Heineke, M White, Jameis
JT, Saquon, Mixon, Kyren, Mattison, K Herbert, Dillon, Perine
JJ, Adams, Tyreek, Deebo, Evans, Mooney, R Rice, QJ
Andrews, Kittle, Irv, Jelani

If you can land Murray for Smith straight up, I would make the deal on value alone. Smith has come back down to where most expected him to be this year after a one year anomaly. Even with all of Murray's concern, he is worth the risk for this price.

I'm not sure why he wouldn't just wait out Murray if he's got Stroud and Tua? And I'm not 100% sure if Kyler will be his usual self from a mobility standpoint, even come playoff time this year. But you know your leaguemate better than I do and you've got solid options even if Kyler takes some time to return to form.

If it's an angle you can exploit, I absolutely would.

Geno is a serviceable QB3, hell, probably even QB 2. But A) we don't know what his long-term outlook is and B) he simply doesn't posess the ceiling Kyler does. We probably saw his ceiling last year and he's a solid 18ppg guy. Kyler is capable of 23+ppg

As with any trade like this, it depends on the (+), but it's definitely a pivot I'd be looking to make

As a contender with Tua and a shaky second qb (Carr/Dobbs) till Kylers back, I would definitely ride it out in that guys position over entertaining that trade. I cant imagine he would make that trade unless Geno was a secondary piece in it.
Team 1
12 Team 1QB (start 8)
QB - Allen, D Jones, Lance, Hooker
RB- Bijan, Jacobs, Najee, Conner, Ford, Fournette, Moss, Rodriguez, Dowdle, Hill, Rodriguez, Strong, Wilson
WR- Adams, Diggs, G Wilson, DK, London, Diontae Johnson, Mike Williams
TE- Kelce, Pitts, Otton, Strange

24 - 1st, 3rd

Team 2
12 Team SF, 2TE with .5TEP (start 12)
QB - Tua, Kyler, Carr, Dobbs, Winston, Heinicke
RB - A Jones, Gibbs, Mostert, Monte, Sanders, Wilson, Moss, Allgeier, Perine, Wilson, Hull, Chandler
WR - Hill, Diggs, Adams, Cooper, Kirk, Hollywood, Burks, Lazard, Chark, Campbell, Arob
TE - Hock, Waller, Everett, Parkinson, Hopkins

24 - 4
25 - 1, 2, ,3, 4
