16 Team SF: Trade Two Firsts+ for Tyreek?

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

16 Team SF: Trade Two Firsts+ for Tyreek?

Postby yellowdart2448 » Wed Sep 27, 2023 6:07 am

16 Team SF league. This is also an IDP league which is what really sets my team apart. I won the title last year. I have already traded my 2024 1st for Tee Higgins last season. My team through 3 weeks has currently scored the most points of anyone so no reason to believe I won't be a title team this year. I was offered Tyreek Hill from a rebuilder for my 2025 1st, 2026 1st, 2025 3rd, and Jalen Tolbert. My WRs are Tee Higgins, Amari Cooper, Tyler Lockett, Allen Robinson, Bourne, Parris Campbell, Curtis Samuel, Westbrook-Ikhine, and Tolbert. This is a deep league for a 16 team league where I have to start 3 WRs but we also have two flex positions. My RBs are Ekeler, White, Javonte so most weeks I'm starting 3 RBs but still need a 4th WR.

Would you do this trade? I would be locking myself out of a 1st round pick until 2027 (unless I trade back of course). Thanks!

Update to my own post lol... 4 different people said they messaged him since he put Hill on the block (2 of them are strong competitors). So I accepted before a different person got him.

I'm all for blocking competitors from elite players. Well done

Seeing your full build would be helpful, but Hill is a huge contending piece in any format. Not having a 1st until 2027 however in a SF format of this size could become a big issue. Hopefully you have a pretty stacked team with plenty of youth where it matters.

As long as the rest of the squad is stacked and you feel like you can be a strong competitor over he next few years I think that’s a decent deal for Hill.

My main roster with IDP included...

QBs: Mahomes, Dak, Geno
RBs: Ekeler, Javonte, White, a bunch of bye week start and pray
WRs: Hill, Higgins, Cooper, Lockett, Allen Robinson, Bourne, Parris Campbell, Curtis Samuel, Westbrook-Ikhine
TEs: Schultz, Parham, Thomas
LBs: Franklin, Greenlaw, Werner, Leonard, Kendricks, Deablo, Gay
DLs: Watt, Hunter, Buckner
DBs: Bell, Terrell, Whitehead

Do I have a ton of youth?... I would say no. But, I am pretty good at the hardest position to find in a 16 team SF which is QB of course. The importance of IDP cannot be understated in this league. Through the first 3 weeks, Watt is the overall No.1 player. Obviously, I will know my league more than anyone else, but understanding that the time will come where having no premium picks will eventually catchup to me, I won the title last year, lead points this year, and believe my stars still have 1-3 years left of being good. This is also a money league so I do think that puts more importance on doing what it takes to have a profit built in for future years.
