CEH or Spiller?

Postby Shagmyster90 » Sat Jun 24, 2023 11:27 pm

I can see Clyde going to a nice landing spot in 2024 and spiller might be able to cut out a role in LA.

I have both and right now if I had to choose only one to keep, it would be CEH. It doesn't look like he'll ever regain RB1 potential again, but it's fairly realistic to expect CEH to have a few more seasons of 7-14 touches per game if he lands in the right situation.

I hope Spiller gets the opportunity to prove himself capable of even a small regular role, but there remains the possibility he ends up out of the league without ever seeing 100 touches in a season. CEH has proven he has NFL on-field ability, and he'll get a call to show up somewhere after he's done in KC.

Not often you say this, but CEH and not close.

CEH. But not with any expectations that he actually becomes good at football. Your league taco will want him after he moves on to a new team. Even as a potential trade throw-in.

I've been out on Spiller since that awful combine. An empty roster spot is worth more.

CEH is the only one of the two that has a chance of increasing their value

CEH has been a very effective receiver and there is decent potential someone uses him appropriately and he could go as high as an RB2.

Spiller was effective in college, but has had zero success translating that to the NFL so far. What sort of role do you think he’ll even cut out? To me, he’s well behind Ekeler and more importantly, he’s behind Josh Kelley. Even if he passes Kelley, he’d need to completely eliminate Kelley and start cutting into Ekeler’s role to have any sort of fantasy relevance. You could get lucky and he gets elevated due to injuries, but there are still a lot of capable running backs unsigned at this point and LA will be looking to compete, so would likely go that route before handing the reins to an unproven back like Spiller.

the chargers didn't bring in any rbs this offseason. still plenty of time for that to happen but maybe they want to see what spiller can bring in his second year. a year more developed body wise. definitely worth keeping an eye on during training camp and preseason.

The only way CEH lands in a better spot than KC is if that team utilizes him heavy as a James White type of back on passing downs.

I'm not convinced that Spiller is any good. Even if he gets on the field this season, the Chargers will definitely bring in a starter next season. I think it's more likely that Spiller is roster clogger for the next couple of years.

This is isn't hardly even worth commenting on but.....

While it is obvious CEH hasn't lived up to his Hype he has 17 TD's and rushes for over 4 YPC and averages 8 Yards per reception.

Spiller looks like an actual bust with his 18 total Carries for 2.3 YPC and 3 total receptions for 13 total yards. Who knows, maybe this year he will actually score a Touchdown.

Kinda weird to say but CEH has been a superstar for brief stints. Spiller is bench fodder. Go with CEH
