What I really meant was Jefferson coming up on FA in the Rams offense. If your names not Kupp your jobs in jeopardy because they are all meh. I mean Ben Skowronek? who?

Van Jefferson is gonna be a sneaky good play this season. Remember he didn't play at all with Stafford last season. He had wolford, pirkens and, ugh, Mayfield throwing the ball to him.

Re: Deep rookie fliers
I don't think the argument is Jefferson is some elite talent with a long window of future projected production. It's all about this year- poor WR depth esp after letting ARob go. There's even talk Higbee could be let go because of his cap hit. That'd free up a ton of targets.halfbaked88 wrote: ↑Sun May 28, 2023 6:51 amJAGKurt G.O.A.T. wrote: ↑Sun May 28, 2023 6:17 am Van Jefferson is gonna be a sneaky good play this season. Re: Deep rookie fliers
He's a best ball only WR for me. If I'm starting Van Jefferson in a line-up league I know I'm not contending. That's how I see it. He's a roster clogger on a bad offense. Rather have any 3rd.Pullo Vision wrote: ↑Sun May 28, 2023 7:05 amI don't think the argument is Jefferson is some elite talent with a long window of future projected production. Re: Deep rookie fliers
as a former Edwards owner and current Wilson owner, i thought the knock on Edwards was his inability to get any separation from DBs, where Wilson's strength is his ability to separate. I think Wilson also supposedly has elite deceleration

This I have to hear. Could you flesh this out a bit and explain how you came up with this equivalence, or is this just a random thought hit-and-run post?
Re: Deep rookie fliers
Aside from the comp above (don't really agree with it either), Wilson is getting a lot of hype and I think he's going to be priced out of where I'd be taking a stab on him. Definitely not a deep rookie anymore

It is the later, but because of this:Bronco Billy wrote: ↑Sun May 28, 2023 8:42 amThis I have to hear. Could you flesh this out a bit and explain how you came up with this equivalence, or is this just a random thought hit-and-run post?
I think he's a great athletic WR where he was being drafted. He showed out in the Senior Bowl and also flashed well (when he was able to) play in season. But due to the new hype, propelled into a possible starting gig, and everything else he's going to push up charts and lead to having to reach for him if you want to draft him. Similar trajectory that Edwards had previously. Is HE better than Edwards - probably, but he has to be on the field to prove it.

Re: Deep rookie fliers
Thanks for the explanation. So you’re comparing the rise in ADP given the perception of drafters due to the situation and not comparing their physical attributes and style of play. Would that be correct?YouMightDieTryin wrote: ↑Sun May 28, 2023 10:45 amIt is the later, but because of this:Bronco Billy wrote: ↑Sun May 28, 2023 8:42 amThis I have to hear. It's a bad comp, but I can see the reasoning in terms of value.raiders444 wrote: ↑Sun May 28, 2023 8:26 amas a former Edwards owner and current Wilson owner, i thought the knock on Edwards was his inability to get any separation from DBs, where Wilson's strength is his ability to separate. Edwards was more of a possession WR, who won at catchpoint and could win in contested catch situations. He wasn't a pure separator, but he could get open at a competent level in college. Kind of like a "we have Allen Robinson at home" player.
Wilson looks like a better route runner, but wasn't nearly as productive as Edwards in college in terms of advance stats.

Re: Deep rookie fliers
Parker Washington is a guy I've been prioritizing late. Decent profile (somewhat middling production, but early breakout and early declare), a fantasy-friendly skillset (hands, speed, YAC), and an exploitable depth chart in what should be an explosive offense. As a prospect he's super-lite ARSB. Good profile, nuked by NFL draft capital. But he's 10 times cheaper than ARSB ever was.
Not saying he'll be that guy, and I don't expect immediate production, but I think there's a decent chance he gains value from current 4th round/waiver wire spot
