1.02 decision - JSN or Gibbs?

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

1.02 decision - JSN or Gibbs?

Postby ff330 » Sat Apr 29, 2023 4:59 pm

Team #2 in sig / PPR
Start 2RB/3WR, 2 flex

Our leagues draft on Saturday, one week from today. Two weeks ago I traded my 1.04 and 2.04 to move up to the 1.02 basing my decision on JSN/Gibbs being in their own tier above others.

Until a couple of nights ago, I was pretty comfortable leaning with JSN.

AJB and Kirk are my top WR's but I've lost the potential of Jameson for 6 games. With OBJ being a bit of a question mark, adding a WR seemed like the best way to go, despite my RB room not being great.

Based on this roster, I'm looking for any other input regarding the "best" pick for this team, (other than offering the 1.02 plus something for Bijan).

Any great thoughts out there? Thx.

If you’re a contender and need immediate RB production then Gibbs. If you’re a couple of years away, then I think JSN might be the better long term play

Format? Starting req? No TEs? What would you say you are strength wise in the standings?

Based on roster, I'd say JSN but I'm sure the 1.03 owner might need a RB/WR so i'd look to trade back and grab an extra 2nd or so

Gibbs for me in most formats, team situation doesn’t matter for me.

Between the two, Gibbs has the value based on position and in the short term. If you are looking long term, JSN.

bleep….
I have the 1.02 in a deep starting lineup PPR 1QB league (team 2) and until today (swift trade) I have been set on getting JSN but now I’m so unsure. I also have the 1.07 so that is making me think I can draft one of the 1st round capital WRs there and just take JSN at the 1.02…
I am nearing the end of my rebuild and do not want to miss

You’ll add a decent WR at 1.07, but the value is still with Gibbs. I like the idea of trading back one spot if you still want JSN (he should be a PPR beast), but Gibbs holds more value in that format.

Regarding the earlier question on format, TE's ? - We do have TE's (Kittle) and they can used used in the flex spot as well. With 5 teams listed, I run out of characters here at DLF to list TE's and the DST's (which these leagues unfortunately still use). Roster is 22 total and it is PPR.

The team finished at 7-7 in 7th place but would have done somewhat better if I had better managed a revolving QB door after Dak went out. I also turned down a trade for Burrow that I shouldn't have, hoping to squeeze by until Dak returned. The top two teams were 12-2 and the league champ repeated from 2021 with a crazy strong team. This team needs more than just a player or two to be competitive if it makes the last playoff spot.

Thx for the input so far.

The owner of 1.03 is just starting a complete rebuild and says he’s happy with whoever falls to him but is open to trading back to my 1.07. I’m pretty in love with my team so it’s hard to come up with something.

Maybe 1.07 and Burks for 1.03 and 2.01 but even with that I am not sure.

Honestly, if you really like both JSN and Gibbs trading back 1 spot and get a little more draft capital would be the way to go.
