Jack Sanborn and CHI LB corps
Does Sanborn still have value with the signings of LBs Tremaine Edmonds and TJ Edwards?

not much. third LB in chicago (if scheme remains the same) gets 30% of the snaps. i doubt they paid the Eds to do that, so it's where he'll play, at least at the beginning of the season.

He's a plug and play with any injury to one of these two.

The comments here are spot on. Face value he has basically no value. The Bears paid up to take both his spots. There is a reason they did that. He’s strictly an injury replacement plug and play option. Maybe you can sell for scraps to an Edwards or Edmunds owner who wants injury insurance.
In my 16 team, start 3 LB leagues, I’ll try to get him for scraps, and hold out hope for an in season value gain (as recent position shifts have made these LBs hard to gather in this requirement).

Don’t react too quickly IMO. If you asked me last year whether either Edmonds or Edwards could credibly replace Roquan I would have said no way. Yet that’s what Sanborn did. Don’t forget that Edwards was an UDFA like Sanborn was. Sanborn could be the best solution in the middle with Edwards and Edmonds moving to OLBs.

there were most likely other factors involved, but they went from conceding an average of 22.5 points to above 30 after smith's trade.Bronco Billy wrote: ↑Mon Mar 27, 2023 10:59 am Don’t react too quickly IMO. as for reacting too quickly, sanborn only started 6 games. he looked good, and i really thought the bears should have invested somewhere else rather than at LB: they needed at least one more starter so edmunds is a fine signing i guess, but i thought they'd filled the depth with lower level (of cash) players (morrow got one million and change from the eagles, something/someone like that). they gave edwards some money instead. not that much, but that's not what you pay a LB that you want to keep mostly on the bench (it's still da bears so you never know though!). he should be an easy cut after just one season though, so maybe they just want to see how sanborn develops. he might overtake one of the two during the season, but he'll have to get a bit better in coverage, both new signing have done better than him (at least recently).

Re: Jack Sanborn and CHI LB corps
I dropped Sanborn in the 2 leagues where I had him.
I just don't have the bench depth for backup LB's.

In my local cheesehead leagues with Bears fans, this Badger alum might still be rostered, but I also dropped him in my other league.
You might try trading him to your league Bear or Badger fan owner, but otherwise he's droppable for now.
