George Pickens, where did we go wrong?

Yup, that is wild. He has quickly ascended into top 50-65 ADP type value based on that.

I just traded away Brandon Aiyuk for Pickens 5 days ago.

I think the mistake was just common recency bias, because Pickens did not play much during the 2021 season.
Out of sight out of mind.
Before Pickens tore his ACL in March 2021, he was considered to be the WR1 or WR2 of the 2022 draft class.

Though every year there are players that disappoint, and players the surpass expectations.

On the days Lance is on, I am assuming. All reports are Lance has been up and down all of camp. Some days he looks good, others, he's all over the place with his throws. Not surprising either, given the lack of football he's played. I am really interesting to see how much Shanny masks the accuracy stuff, with roll outs, 1 read throws, and uses Lance's legs to try and get him some easier throws, to start his career off and get him some confidence.

Went 1.09 in our draft that starts right after the NFL draft. Immediately after Olave snd immediately before Moore and then Watson

That's exactly where I took him in my first rookie draft of the year back on May 10th. In our SF/TEP/IDP, I had him going after the big 5 WRs and Hall & Walker. Didn't really want to take Pickett so I was grateful Pickens was there. Never even considered Watson or Moore. Feel great about his performance so far, but to be honest, I planned on him sitting on my taxi this year anyway.

A guy with limited tape against top tier competition and no combine drills is always going to be tough to evaluate. He’s looking good so far, but its preseason.

He's a fantastic athlete with prototype size, but he reminds me of Claypool and more so Martavis Bryant. Let's see him consistently win with his routes and not just out jump CBs who probably won't see the field come September.

Same here. It would be a bold move to pass on Wilson for Pickett... but you gotta call your shots!

I definitely missed on Pickens so far. He makes it look easy. Makes the game look slow. But it is easy and slow right now. So take it with a small grain of salt. People lose their minds every year over someone.

Id move Pickens into the 1.07 spot in a sf. The rbs, London, Wilson, Jameson, Olave, and then Pickens. I can see the temptation to take him over Wilson but I think sticking to all the information we already have rather than a couple catches and some camp hype would be a better process.

We will see how Pickens manages when some elite dbs start messing with him mentally and emotionally. I could see him losing it OBJ style.

That said he looks real good for the little I’ve seen. I’d pay…a 2023 1.10-1.12 in sf. But I’ll save the picks and pass after that.
