This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Cashout on Veterans or Smoke it to the Filter

Postby Eli4Prez » Sat Feb 19, 2022 7:28 am

Seeking the wisdom of the forum. This is for the team in signature. Trying to decide if I should move on from some veterans to accumulate some 2023 draft capital or younger talent. Or do I just ride it out and take the likely too their production for the next couple of years. I have went to the championship 3 years in a row but only won once.

Looking to see what return I could get on any of the following: Davante Adams, Stefon Diggs, Nick Chubb, Darren Waller

I also thought about just holding and trying to trade mid season but if I am contending I likely wouldn’t do it.

Considering you have 1.07 and 1.09 I’d probably stick with this team for another year and make another run. You’ll be adding some youth anyways or you could potentially trade those firsts to try to go heavier into the 23 draft. Strong contender right now though.

I would shop the assets you are willing to move for the right price and see if any deals are worth moving for. It never hurts to shop and you may be able to get younger while still contending. No need to force a deal either.

That teams really good I’d shop Ekeler, Chubb, Barkley, and Adams to see what you can get but if you don’t get great value go win the ship this year

Man, this is a beautiful team. Your RB room is totally stacked! I made a similar post this week about my squad, as I was on the fence with a similar decision, but seeing your team here makes me confident in my decision to launch a retool/mini-rebuild a bit here by way of contrast. I think like others said, exploring and taking a deal at great value if it presents itself makes sense, but I do feel like you have enough youth and balance to not feel pressure to.

I would not cash this out yet. I have a team in a similar situation is you with some of the same players ( Wilson, Adams, ekeler) and then some with similar ages. You're not in a dire need to rebuild as this team absolutely can make another run this year. How I'm playing it is I'm going to try and trade guys like Wilson and Adams to get younger players like burrow and Jefferson even if I have to overpay a bit. You can do that with the two first that you have.

So maybe offer Wilson and 1.07 for burrow. Or adams and1.09 for Jefferson and their second. If nothing bites then just roll with what you have during the draft possibly trade those two picks if not see where your team is mid-season and go from there.
Team 1: Players of note
PPR--QB, RBx2, WRx3, TE, Superflex, Flex x2
QBs: Lawrence, Stafford, Bunch of backups
RBs: Ekeler, Kamara, Achane, Dillon, Kelley, Moss, Javonte Williams,Jamaal Williams
WRs: Adams, Hopkins, Waddle, Kirk, JSN, Boyd, OBJ, Hyatt, Osborn
TEs: Kelce, Hockenson, Taysom,

and then a few minor players and rookie stashed on taxi
