I never liked Darnold, but made a deal for him in a SF league, after the Dallas game. He was on my roster for 2 games, both of which I watched. That was enough for me. I moved him last week. He's a bonehead. Winston level. Just has no idea what's going on out there. Don't think he ever will, either.

I like that you tried to cherry pick and it was still super shitty. hoping TY gets healthydondickenson wrote: ↑Sun Oct 24, 2021 8:59 pm Wentz 7 games: 1695 yards, 11 TD, 1 INT, 103 passer rating, 1 rushing TD
That includes a hobbled game on bad ankles against Tennessee where he passed for 194/0/0 and tonight in the heavy rainstorm where he had 150/2/0. His other games he passed for basically 220, 220, 240, 250, 400 yards.
He’s not lighting it up but he is playing very, very well as a game manager.

I too am confused at how this was cherry picking. These are Wentz's stats. They are what they are. Hes still made some dumb plays, but has largely played well despite a very limited recieving core.dondickenson wrote: ↑Mon Oct 25, 2021 7:24 amDid not cherry pick at all. Yeah, I don't get it. Maybe the 2 games with the rain storm and where he was hurt? Seems like a bit much, using expletives and all, in a scenario like a message board. Not sure what the issue is here.CGW wrote: ↑Mon Oct 25, 2021 7:48 amI too am confused at how this was cherry picking. These are Wentz's stats. They are what they are. Re: Week 7 Discussion
Yeah, I'm clearly talking about the last 5 years of Winston's play in TB, where he led the league in turnovers. I still don't think Jameis is a very good decision maker, though he has improved, but he was a complete bonehead for 5 years, and that's what I see with Darnold. He's just a turnover machine that makes poor decisions consistently.Bronco Billy wrote: ↑Mon Oct 25, 2021 8:53 amGreat observation. Re: Week 7 Discussion
Eh, IDK - Josh Allen, Dak, Andrew Luck, Kyler (to this point at least), even Deshaun basically started right away - in no particular order, I'm just thinking out loud.nathanq42 wrote: ↑Sun Oct 24, 2021 12:49 pm I don't have any stats to back this up but I feel like most high profile rookie QBs that immediately start without usurping an incumbent option (like how Russ did) more often than not end up busting. I get that there is a very low probability of success for QBs at the NFL level but essentially all of the elite QBs started training camp at least behind a vet (mahomes behind Smith, Brady behind Bledsoe, Russ behind Flynn, Lamar behind Flacco, Rodgers behind Favre) of the too talent in today's NFL only 2 were immediate starters without much competition when they came in, Herbert and Allen. Odd that teams are still throwing these kids out there without much help to get slaughtered by grown men.
Oddly enough there was a string of QBs that were immediate starters a decade ago that had perfectly fine careers (Ryan, Roethlisberger, Stafford, Mannings)
I feel like the best course of action is to let a QB grow behind a vet for a year or two without the pressure or expectations placed on immediate starters. Especially considering the team would have had to be pretty bad to have gotten a high pick to begin with
Most QBs end up disappointing compared to the hopes and dreams that exist for them on draft day, no matter how they're handled.

Re: Week 7 Discussion
Callaway was so wide open, and Winston saw him 2 seconds too late. Hawks got hosed on that earlier 4th down, 2 Saints clearly moved pre snap. Sloppy game. This Saints offense is kind of sad to watch. Gives me a greater appreciation for Drew Brees.
