He was likely playing behind just because he missed so much preseason with his own injury

Once deebo or kittle gets banged up you can start aiyuk. Otherwise he should stay on your bench.

I’m not sure why a lot of people didn’t want to believe a healthy 49ers offense would hurt Aiyuks production..

Although I do think there will be a little bit of regression from Aiyuk when everyone is healthy, it won’t be like this. I think this has a lot to do with Aiyuks hammy injury, I think he’ll regain his spot over Sherfield in the next couple games when fully healthy.

I was fading Kittle a bit because of all the weapons in SF. didn't expect Aiyuk to do nothing, but it is a long season.

that said, a guy in our league tends to go all in on a player (all his leagues), pumps him up a ton and then that player tanks.
one season it was Sammy Watkins, another season it was Christian Michael, Monty Ball, Adams (he was all in on him the year before he broke out and sold after that season). anyway, he was all in on Aiyuk this season

Hamstring concerns and also Sheffield. The potential of "coach speak," Shanahan trying to be down on Aiyuk while telling us he ain't starting, is worrisome for certain.

Aiyuk was not drafted as a first rounder and productive last year to be a nobody. It was pretty obvious they held him back precautionary. I mean....do people already forget those two things? First round draft capital?....and production as a rookie? He will be fine.

Exactly. It's one game, people. Calm down. Aiyuk was able to handle the alpha role last year. That counts for something.

It's unfortunate timing that the true alpha there is Kittle. And Deebo is an above average or equal talent. But in no way am I panicking on Aiyuk in dynasty.

It was a little shocking. I still contend that Aiyuk is more talented than Deebo but obviously the game plan did not agree with me. Maybe it was the hammy but it feels more the Shanahanigans to me. Shades of Dante Pettis keep popping into my head.

I think Kyle is pissed and wants to make the Super Bowl and he is going to play whoever he wants, without regard to draft capital or anything else....he is going full Bill Belichick.

Yeah this has everything to do with the head coach and nothing to do with Aiyuk. Nothing Deebo did yesterday was something Aiyuk couldn't do. Same with Sermon and Mitchell. Shanahan is more worried about thinking he's the smartest man in the room than using his best weapons (see Kittle getting just 5 targets in a game that had 74 points...)

I've always been on the side of deebo being the better wr.
I do think aiyuk will play third fiddle in this offence , what that translates to , no idea lol
