A Couple of Anthony Miller Qs

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

A Couple of Anthony Miller Qs

Postby Gatorguy7275 » Sat Aug 29, 2020 8:06 am

I drafted Miller 2 yrs ago with a mid-2nd rd pick. He's flashed some ability but has a significant injury hx. He might be primed for a 3rd yr breakout if he can stay healthy & get better QB play. I don't have a 2021 2nd, having traded it to move up to draft Reagor this year. I also have 1 more cut to make & it's probably V Jefferson unless I can trade Miller for a future draft pick. I'd like to get back a 2021 2nd for mine that I traded, but the best offer so far is S Shepard or Phillip Lindsey for Miller, which I rejected, at least for the present.

My Qs are:
(1) What is Miller's current value ?
(2) Should I cut Jefferson & hold Miller or vice-versa ?
(3) Should I trade Miller for Shepard or Lindsey if I still can ?
(4) My plan is to cut VJ, keep Miller & hope he plays well early so I can sell high (a 2021 2nd). Is that realistic?

Thanks for your input & stay safe out there.

(1) I've been trying to sell him everywhere (a lot of injuries, an older 2nd year player and a offense with a capped upside due to poor QB options) and no one is interested. In a vacuum I think he's worth a late 2nd this year or a rando second next year but I'm not getting anything like that. Even trying to package him up. I think a combo of a poor looking offense and a terrible time to sell 2nd year players.
(2) I may be be in the same position depending on how my draft goes in the couple of rounds (currently in the mid 2nd) I really like Van Jefferson. Maybe see if you can find a buyer fro another WR if you need to cut roster slots?
(3) I'd probably flip him for Shepard or Lindsay but it seems a bit like rearranging the deck chairs...
(4) Sure. It's possible if Miller breaks out but I'm not really seeing it if Robinson stays healthy.

I used an early second on Miller. I feel his value should be around a late 2nd now but like you found nobody was interested in him at that price. I think your best bet is to include him as an additional piece to get an upgrade somewhere or hold and hope he gets off to a good start and his value goes back up.

Great thoughts here.
