Bears QB Situation
Bears QB Situation
Legitimate open competition with Foles on board.
Trubisky given one more chance but with a short rope
Foles was brought in to be the guy, they have seen enough of Trubisky

Re: Bears QB Situation
As a Vikings fan - I love this move for the Bears.
Truth is found through Evidence.
Science is the poetry of reality.
* Reality (as defined by Webster's dictionary) - A word for things as they actually exist, as opposed to an idealistic or notional ideal of them.

Re: Bears QB Situation
Double that. Foles might be a better passer than Trubisky, but not a huge upgrade.
I was hoping they'd add a real QB for fantasy purposes.
Not all that counts can be counted. Not all that can be counted counts.
Re: Bears QB Situation
Legit competition for the job. Neither is a great option currently, but I'm leaning slightly towards trubisky to keep the job. At least to start.

Re: Bears QB Situation
Foles was brought in to be the guy. Not only does he have the ability to throw deep down field, he has the willingness as well.

I think this is a disaster waiting to happen ... IMO, Trubisky isn’t the type of player to rise to the occasion & I don’t think that Foles is anything more than a great backup option. They need to formally cut bait with Trubisky and start over.

Re: Bears QB Situation
As a Viking fan...I am wondering if the other Vikings fans have discovered the secret of blocking out the 38-7 drubbing Foles handed them in what was largely predicted to be an “easy” playoff game for the Vikings.
And yes, that was Foles. Not the system. Just stop with that.

Re: Bears QB Situation
I don't dislike foles, but he's been much better as a backup coming into a starting position rather than being "the guy."

Re: Bears QB Situation
I think that run in Philly is tough to replicate. Like Case Keenum & the 2017 Vikings. Average QBs can have a good season, but elite QBs do it most seasons. If Foles was good, wouldn't Jacksonville keep him? They prefer Gardner Minshew.Valhalla wrote: ↑Thu Mar 19, 2020 7:02 am As a Viking fan...I am wondering if the other Vikings fans have discovered the secret of blocking out the 38-7 drubbing Foles handed them in what was largely predicted to be an “easy” playoff game for the Vikings.

Re: Bears QB Situation
If they thought Foles was better, they'd make it work. If it's really about cap space, they think the two QBs are close to the same in talent. No one lets talented QBs walk without someone better available to them.
Edit: trading Foles to the Bears still leaves $18 million in dead cap. They're paying him a LOT to not be their QB and still have $16 million on cap space.

Re: Bears QB Situation
i think they do, with foles being a bit better, but not enough to justify his contract. also, you know what foles is by now, minshew could still improve.Pac_Eddy wrote: ↑Thu Mar 19, 2020 7:16 amIf they thought Foles was better, they'd make it work.
