Charles Clay is actually listed at the top of the depth chart on MFL. I took a flyer on him recently.Plank wrote: ↑Fri Jun 14, 2019 4:34 pm I'm not done watching all of CHI's games yet, but like up to W6, Burton was used on the ISO side like Kelce in Reid's offense .. if that continues, I say Burton has the most to gain in CHI .. if Shaheen ever goes ISO, I would be very interested, otherwise, I'm not so sure ..
I'm also curious with Seals-Jones in Kingsbury system, after watching ARI's season, I would throw a little capital at him (not much, but a 3rd or something, if I had a lot of room on my roster)

Tight end 10 last year in standard scoring and now with AB and Jesse James gone he should see and increase in targets. Top 5 is not unreasonable
Can someone explain the sudden Herndon love?
Pretty terrible measurables, not overly productive in college, not much draft capital spent on him.
I get it rhat jets don't exactly have many other weapons so he should be seeing lots of targets but there isn't much evidence he will do much with the oppurtunity.
He seems like perhaps a nice buy low guy but I'm seeing him going as a top 12 tight end right now

Re: Undervalued TEs to target?
The Jets offense will be interesting. Enunwa was out the last 3/4 of the year and just got paid decent money to stay for 2 more years. They also now have Bell, and Roddy has potential. I think all ships will rise as the offense gets better, but it is a major crapshoot as to who the #1 in that offense will be (behind Bell).

I am really rooting for Enunwa. He has had some unfortunate injuries, but in the right system, when healthy, he would be unstoppable. I am hoping Darnold plays it safe often with Enunwa.

Re: Undervalued TEs to target?
This may not pertain to this year if you are needing production immediately. But with the Kyle Rudolph recent contract signing I think Irv Smith is now an undervalued TE to target. I'll bet his June ADP takes a tumble due to Rudolph's contract news. Looking at the #s for the contract tho it's basically a 1 yr deal, 2 at most imo.

How about Mo Alie-Cox Indy? Good measurables, basketball background. Ebron is a FA at the end of the season

Re: Undervalued TEs to target?
There is a Vikings fan in a couple of my leagues and he said that he wished the signing had occurred earlier in the draft season so that he could have waited longer on taking Smith. I think logically, that yeah the contract does not hurt Irv Smith much from a development standpoint. It is only if an owner was expecting great things from Smith from the get-go - sort of like Evan Engram. However even guys like Kittle, Ertz & Kelce (although for differing reasons) did not have huge Year Is, so it is not like, with all rookie TEs, that the odds favored him anyways. The Vikings have shown they know how to incorporate their TEs so long-term this should be a good thing for Smith.djeternal2 wrote: ↑Mon Jun 17, 2019 3:44 pm This may not pertain to this year if you are needing production immediately. Re: Undervalued TEs to target?
Worth an end of bench stash. I wish he was a bit faster, but his catch-radius is like woah.
But it's tough to tie up a bench spot all season on a TE that will probably never move from there without injuries to Doyle/Ebron. Preferably, I'd 'store' someone like Alie-Cox on the waiver-wire for as long as possible.
Unpopular opinion: Irv Smith's tape is better than Noah Fant's.djeternal2 wrote: ↑Mon Jun 17, 2019 3:44 pm This may not pertain to this year if you are needing production immediately. Posted on another thread but should serve as a reminder that if you can buy low on a 1st round TE you may want to do so.ArrylT wrote: ↑Wed Jun 19, 2019 7:59 amYes I had to check for myselfsnaps06 wrote: ↑Fri Jun 14, 2019 7:56 pmAgreed. I went ahead and checked Ertz really quickly. He easily surpassed 185 catches, 2000 yards, and 10 TDs. It took about 45 seconds to find that info.Dynasty DeLorean wrote: ↑Fri Jun 14, 2019 1:03 pm
That... doesn't seem accurate. Zach Ertz is just one guy off the top of my head that fits those numbers. I wouldn't be surprised if there are others as well if Ertz was missed.
edit: jimmy Graham as well. And some of those players were close to or either got those numbers through just their first 3 seasons or so. Its kind of apples to oranges when most put up much better numbers than ebron. But it could be interesting if the list was correct.
I like Ebron as much an anybody, but to put him up there with Winslow, Gronk, Gonzalez, and Witten is nuts.
http://pfref.com/tiny/orGs2
Thats every TE from 1970 forward (after AFL & NFL Merger) for their first 4 years that have matched that specific criteria.
http://pfref.com/tiny/ZmnSW
Thats every TE from 1998 - or the start of the internet/fantasy football era
The interesting thing is that it re-confirms (for me) the value of a 1st round TE. Even Ebron despite a 'delayed' development, on a team that did not prioritize the TE position, with only 45 games as a starter (out of 72 potential) is on a list of some pretty good names.
So rather this suggests that rather than Eric Ebron being a bust is that his first 4-5 years production should be considered a likely floor for the first 4-5 years of any TE drafted after him in the 1st round such as
Evan Engram
Noah Fant
TJ Hockenson
OJ Howard
Hayden Hurst
David Njoku
http://pfref.com/tiny/y6DKi
That is a list of all 1st round TEs since merger with just their 5 years of production matching 240+ receptions, 2500+ yards receiving & 15+ TDs.
http://pfref.com/tiny/yZ4sy
And their full career outlooks.
