Yeah, if I were Bell I wouldn' sit out any longer. Pitt's line doesn't turn randoms into elite backs, but the run blocking is good and makes it easier to produce. His leverage is going to die.

Conner is under contract, Bell is not. Everyone seems to not realize this. Bell has been tagged, but he hasn’t, and doesn’t have to, agree to it. This is much different than the OBJ situation or anyone else who still had years on their contract that chooses to hold out. Bell has played out the contracts that he signed.

I agree. Conner is an above-average RB (a-la Hunt) who takes advantage of the system and takes what is given to him, with a little extra from time to time.

I don't know if Bell is trying to strong-arm the Steelers into a long term deal. Pretty sure Bell is tied to the understanding that he will just wait this out and go for a big contract next off season.

Is anyone surprised at this point? This ALWAYS seems to happen with whoever is backing up Bell when he misses time. Not saying Bell isn't great but that o-line is just amazing.

I’d trade him anyways. How can bell be accepted back in that locker room and tbh Connor has done all the work all preseason and every practice. He deserves the reps even if bell comes back

At this point it "seems" like Bell isn't going to be a Steeler long-term, which means he isn't going to get the contract he's looking for. It probably makes sense for him to just report, collect the checks, and then go elsewhere in free agency this offseason.

Conner owners need to hope for Bell to hold out a few more games. If he does and Conner performs well, he'll probably be the official starter next season.

This is a fair point - since he technically is not under contract with the Steelers.

When I'm wrong, I say I'm wrong and I really think I was wrong on Conner. I love him since I'm a Pitt alum but I never thought he could be a Bellcow in the NFL and I think what I saw today makes me think he has a chance. Oh and his fumble hurt the Steelers but Ben killed any chance the Steelers had with just stupid decisions. #IMissToddHaley
