Is Guice still the 1.02

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

He's still the 1.02 for me but he's no longer in a tier of his own after the 1.01.

Think of it this way: if someone said on Thursday morning that Guice would get drafted mid-2nd to the Redskins, would we all panic and freak out? Not at all. We might think, "hmm that's later than I would think", but it's right in line with where Cook and Mixon got taken.

Obviously the most worrisome fact is that SO MANY other RBs got taken ahead of him, but Guice still carries borderline-elite draft capital and it's a prime situation.

Thanks for all your input.

I just picked R.Penny with 1.02.

I tried, but could not get anyone to give ANYTHING reasonable for 1.02. I couldn't even get a 3rd round bump to swap 1.02 for 1.03.

Penny is a dynamic RB with great field vision, just watch one of his 8 kick return TDs. He has a realistic chance to become a true 3 down RB.

Guice has a great O-line to run behind, but C.Thompson is going to get 3rd down duty, I don't care what the coach said about him (the day he was drafted). C.Thompson was one of the best 3rd down backs last season.

This team I have is a new startup and I drafted a super young roster, I am basically punting year 1 while my youth develops. I have no questions about Penny's talent, he is a monster. Hopefully Seattle improves their O-line over the next 1-2 years so Penny can reach his full potential.

I think Guice will be similar to Chubb but with a clearer path to touches. 1&2 down guy to start, their teams will use their current established 3rd down guys for now. As Chubb and Guice get better at 3rd down duties they will take over that role.

Guice doesn't have a guy like Hyde sharing the backfield.

People are obsessing over Chris Thompson! Chris Carson? CJ prosise? Those guys will see of plenty touches too.

Anyway I still like guice at 1.02 but I'm now listening to offers. Don't care that he went late but wow he has tons of issues we didn't know about a week ago.

That’s kinda how I’m looking at it. On one hand, I would hate to pass on him if this ends of being nothing, maybe just another young guy being a knucklehead but I’m usually risk adverse so I’m not sure yet. I’m also going to listen to offers, see if anything looks better to me.

I draft tomorrow and have 1.02 and am stressing out pretty hard. I’m torn between Guice (who I had ranked 1.02) but I do like the Bucs, a lot, so am strongly considering RoJo. I can’t ignore Pennys high pick, either. Really tough decision

Same boat as you brother.

I’m sticking with Guice.

I have the 1.02 as well. Draft isn’t for another month so I’ve got a little time. But Guice now shares a tier with Penny.

I got Guice at 1.06. This is a 1-2 QB draft though.

1. Barkley
2. Penny
3. Chubb
4. Mayfeild
5. Rosen
6. Guice

Moving Guice down is more bizarre than last year when many moved Cook down because of his combine performance. At least those were on field reasons. Guice literally has done nothing but interview poorly.

Thinking of the adage "draft talent over situation"... He's got a good situation but sliding down just creates the pick to be a bit riskier with his off-field concerns. If anything, the NFL draft narrowed the field between him and others (Penny). Conservative pick with lower ceiling is Penny at 1.02... but I'm still going Guice at 1.02.

I see Guice being a capable 3 down back. Remember the biggest knock on Fournette was that he couldn't catch...well we know that's a load.
