D Johnson for D Moncrief & J Matthews

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

D Johnson for D Moncrief & J Matthews

Postby MacLeod » Fri Oct 28, 2016 10:05 am

Is this a fair trade?

Moncrief and Matthews are both on the last year of their rookie contract. They can be re-signed for $12 per year (up to 3 years) in a $104 cap league.

Johnson has 2 years left on his rookie contract and then can be re-signed for $14.25 per year.

I'm finding I am very bad at judging value for trades...I appreciate the help.

I have no idea about their contracts, but in a vacuum I would need a 1st on top of Moncreif and Matthews for my DJ to even open up talks.

I'm really trying to find out what I would need to offer to make it a fair deal. October ADP has Johnson 8th, Moncrief 25th, and Matthews 28th. FantasyPros' dynasty rankings has Johnson at 10, Moncrief at 22, and Matthews at 29.

I am trying to figure out how that all translates when it comes to making a deal. I'm not good at that sort of thing. =(

Thanks for all the replies so far.

It is the team in my sig...if you were me, where would you start? Or would it even be worth it? Thanks!

i dont think your close to be honest... october rankings aside... i think dj is 3rd at worst behind maybe bell and brown... and id personally rather have dj over bell.... dj has his head on straight and i think will be more reliable.
i own all three of those players that you are talking about... and id give up moncrief and matthews long before i moved dj..

DJ is the best player. And, if I read your post correctly, he can end up being kept for the longest time. He's the choice here -- by far. To make this work, you'd need to offer players who are cheaper and who could be kept for as long as if not longer than DJ.
